Lee
To anyone who is reopening in the UK after the 12 weeks of lock down next week, I wish you the very best of good fortune and a safe passage to the future. CDTL
Nice touch Lee would be nice if we can stay in touch and talk about our experiences of how things are panning out good or bad in order so we can support each other
Auto Key Wizard
The retail section of my business opens full time today (15.06.2020) since March 23rd As a bare minimum I have placed counter shields and a few notices to conform with guidelines. I have not made the wearing of gloves or masks mandatory, Hand sanitiser is available and freedom of choice given to it's usage. For the most part, I would expect people to exercise common sense. kobblers and Mike at Vauxhall
Mike at Vauxhall
Due to shitty red tape and a fair amount of bullshit. I can't open technically until I get a trading certificate from my landlords SW Railway. They have confirmed all my paperwork was correct and in order on Monday 15th. So I thought , bollocks to it, and opened on wed 17th. apparently my certificate is due imminently. The downside of being on a train station. The upside is the massive customer flow. See picture. exp121260
It takes time and sadly might take very long time until we back to previous normality. One fact we should all know, even if streets get busier , it does't mean people coming to the shops and spending money. I am based on a high street which is busy most of the day , but people barely going into the shops... People start prioritising what they buy and only spend on goods and services they real need not what they want ! Good luck everyone ...
Lee
We’ve been paying real close attention to local Facebook groups that amount of people who give the “where can I get” questions and although no end recommend other businesses we always try to engage at least one person involved in the topic and mention a couple of things we do because you get no end of people reading it all, we’ve picked up loads of work in the past few weeks by being on the money. But we’ve also got my Sons searching for appropriate posts to comment on too. ive been flat out since reopening. BIG AL PRICE
on my first week of opening, the local highways dept chose to dig the roads and pavements up outside all the shops.Barriers up everywhere, roads closed & restricted access everywhere. Michael
Sort of the same here, opened up then within 2 days all car park charges reinstated and roads shut out side of pedestrianisation hours to help with social distancing. THERE'S NO ONE DOWN HERE SHOPPING TO QUEUE IN THE BLOODY ROAD!!!!!
Jontheshoe
Very similar here , were in a small shopping complex so customers are nervous of crowding together . It’s been steady but not as busy as it should , only positive the repair side would be quiet anyway this time of year , plus , working reduced hours my golfs coming on a treat Mike at Vauxhall
