keithm
Ok people, this is all I will say on BREXIT. This deal that cannot get voted through Parliament is NOT Theresa May's, or indeed Britain's agreement, it is the agreement the EU wish to impose on the UK. David Cameron should hold his head in shame for dumping her and the Country into the mess he didn't have the courage and balls to see through! So Theresa, be brave, lets leave this over bureaucratic European State and fend for ourselves, lets send a message that we will not be bullied into an agreement that does not suit the British people or our Businesses!!! grahamparker
Spot on Keith . Unfortunately politicians in this country no longer stand for the people they are only interested in what they can get out for themselves. And the BBC don't get me started. kobblers
Very, very, well put, Keith. All of those who still think the sun shines out of the EU's backside and are convinced everything will go tits-up if we leave really need to read the Lisbon Treaty and see what would be in store for us if we remain. I would also question why people on the continent who are meant to be our 'friends' use such disparaging and excoriating language when talking about our democratic choice to leave. Most people who want to remain go on about how we always had a voice at 'The Table' - no, a lot of the time we had a voice and it was drowned out or shouted down by the other 26 member states and a lot of proposals we put forward were rejected, (remember David Cameron and how he had to come back with NOTHING?). We are and always have been nothing but a cash-cow for the EU which perhaps goes some way to understanding their enmity towards us as they will have to pick up our very substantial tab. Yes, it's possible we may be poorer and businesses will suffer in the short to medium term but there was no guarantee that we wouldn't go that way if we stayed: Germany - entering recession; Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece all on their knees with mass unemployment and high rates of debt because of the EU's intransigent and punitive policies. We don't know what poor means. People before and after the war years knew poverty - our idea of poverty is laughable and quite frankly, insulting to those who really know hardship. We are Great Britain and we invented almost everything modern on the planet and now we're being told by the doomsayers that we couldn't manage? Don't make me laugh! We are pioneers, innovators, inventors and one of the most open, friendly and welcoming set of nation states on Earth, and always will be. People look and emulate our military, policing, justice, law and order, finance/banking systems and our way of life. Our language is widely spoken. Why do you think that is? It certainly isn't because we're the shrinking violets that certain sections of our society and a lot of the EU think we are. SteelCityShoes
I’ll just go back to finishing this repair on Italian shoes, where I’ve used French polish, German soles, and a Dutch finisher. Might even take a bit more money cutting keys on some Italian blanks. The British Empire is long gone, the world is smaller than it once was. Almost everything you all rely on, on a daily basis is imported. Wake up to it
