If your competition is charging £35-40 then you have to follow suit otherwise you won't get any work at all. We seem to have a lot of Joiners/UPVC guys

who are all becoming locksmiths locally and that is why i don't even bother with much call out work anymore.

Someone quoted £30.00 last week to change 2 euro cylinders on the same property it's not even worth getting in my van for that.

I have the same , but I still charge £60  , for me it's showing you are more professional than the guys down the road & giving the customer confidence in your product & service .

We charge £60 to clone anything other than ID33, them they can have at £30.

VW charge £130 for a standard transponder key non-remote. So why do the key for £30-40? I know some will have to compete with lower prices due to the competition in your area, but I still don't understand people or business's that don't want to make money? By this I am not saying "YOU" personally but maybe your competition thats driving the price down in your area for you.

I charge more as I'm mobile.

A few customers who do the ring-around tell me I'm expensive and that they have had cheaper quotes.

I tell them politely I don't match cheaper prices, and that they are welcome to go down the cheaper route, but also ask if they have checked out these companies, explaining there is a lot of counterfeit equipment that can damage their cars (not cloning equipment) and if it goes pear-shaped that's the last you'll see of them, and that they will be left to pick up the pieces.

Surprisingly this explanation wins over a few who were going to do down the cheaper route

Day 1 of using my new M-Box

VW Golf 5 (09)- 16 minutes

VW Fox (11) - 5 minutes

VW Beetle (00) - Failed to sniff ignition, didn't matter where I placed it, never got any LED's to light up, must have cycled ignition 50 times over 2 attempts, anyone else had any similar issues?

Silca have there own server in the factory, they are just putting a second one in place (i heard they are over 600,000 each but not sure if that was euro's or pounds). The Server is even split into 2 parts within the factory in case of accidents.

Others out source the server they are using which is why the chips will always cost more in the long run.

The time should drop after the new server is up and running after the weekend.

@coffin_dodger

On some VW Beetle is hard to get 3 different sniffing data because the immobilizer tends to transmit always the same packet for many ignition ON. The effect in this case is that at the 1st attempt the LED of the SNOOP blinks to indicate that the 1st data packet have been received and stored, on the followings attempts the LED lights UP solid to indicate that the SNOOP is receiving always the same data.

A trick in this case is to:

- Switch ignition ON to collect the 1st packet (1st LED blinking), then swithch off and remove the key
- Wait 5 seconds
- Put the key in the ignition, and do 15/20 cycles of switch ON/OFF quite rapidly (1/2 second ON, 1/2 second OFF) paying attention to the SNOOP leds (at a certain point the 2nd led starts blinking)
- when you get the second LED blinking, stop to swith ON/OFF cycling and remove the key
- Wait 5 seconds
- Put the key in the ignition again and repeat the above procedure to obtain the 3rd data packet.

If you are not able to SNOOP at all (also the 1st packet) placing the SNOOP antennas in different positions but on all other cars the SNOOP works fine it could be that there's some issues on this specific car that does not allow the SNOOP to collect data.

@grahamparker

I dont know who told to you some details about our cloud system, some info are correct (we have the servers in house and splitted) and some other not  ;)

The only thing I can say is that starting from today's midnight to the weekend (when all the upgrade will be online) the queue waiting times will be significantly reduced.

After updating Server Silca I can clone ID48 key in a few minutes.
M-snoop is a winning tool it avoid wrong sniffing operation and Cutting key before cloning
T48 (chip) it is cheaper and smaller that the electronic keys.
even though the operation flow has too many steps put and  take away transponder and original key that I don't understand i'm satisfied of product.

ID48 chips going up 20% tomorrow, glad i bought 50 last week.

Get some ordered if you can although Aldridges are now out of stock.

I bet this brexit fiasco is going to cost us all quite a bit over the coming months/years.

Lets face it,the majority of the stock we use is imported, whether from Europe or the far east. The fall in value of the pound against the Dollar/Euro will push the price of everything up thus leading to inflation etc.

I like  the fact chips are increasing in price ,also its good to have majority price increases ,there is too much of a tendency to discount everything in this trade and not make a good healthy  investment profit, glad silca are profiting realistically and reaping back some investment so they can reinvest, about time most others raised prices until the customers pips squeak,  id48 was mainly obd before ,MAKE SOME MONEY PEOPLE! good luck.

Until the bloke down the road starts knocking them out at £20 and kills the market!!!
