SteelCityShoes
For a group of cobblers I’m suprised no one has an opinion Thanks for the reply Keith. Out of interest, what’s the main difference between the 710 and 720? You have told me before but you know...still no air-flo so my memory is gone
Gray
I concur. If It's anything like my 700 It will last you years. keithm
keithm
SteelCityShoes, room around the tooling which will help if you do lots of adaptions, if not, stick to the 710 City Shoes Have a look at the machines on our website www.standardgroup.co.uk
grahamparker
We have a power finisher and having used both a 700,710 and the Power unit i would say the Power machine is better but also a lot more expensive.

keithm
Whitfield/Standard, British and built to last, often forgotten amongst the clamour for the so called better engineered and more expensive European models, most of which are no longer manufactured! Funny that as my dad says he was advised by Standard that the Power machine was the way to go and the best shoe machinery available, he was taken on a factory tour at Standards expense back in the late 80's ealy 90's before spending over 20k on a new setup. keithm
If you had the money!!! But, times have changed, I'm not slagging off Power, or any other manufacturer, just saying that we still produce NEW, well engineered British built machines at great value prices, Power can't. kobblers
I remember working on a Hess finisher in the 90s when I was YTS at Automagic. I really liked it. Rick.

petercoulson
Over the years I've come to the conclusion there is no 'best' finisher, I've also realised there is no 'best' motorbike but spent a lot of money trying to find it - there are a lot of factors like how much space do you have, how much money do you have, what is important in a finisher, what machinery were you brought up on, do you need a wide band, fixed brushes or tumble brushes, do you want good extraction or can you compromise, how much work do you have, how many different people will use it, how well will you look after it, do you have to have brand new (new doesn't mean best or even better we have seen that from China). If you are in the market decide what you want, have a look at the machines and see if they will do what you want. kobblers and keithm

We did exactly the same. Bought a full Power Unit with air filtration for the glue and spray along with a DH86 blake and corner storage unit.....all in bright PINK!! still going strong today 28 years later. Top machines! keithm
Power claim they build NEW machines, I'm not sure when the last one was built and supplied to the UK? Pete? As Peter says, it's all about what you and your business needs, we can then supply a machine as a solution for your business
