I always prefer a friendly exchange with my local shops. Im always happy to send customers to them if I can’t help them.

Customers like businesses that help each other and seem happy to use both in future.

I suppose that customer is more likely to use another branch now that he has another 3 of them on their doorstep and may never know you exist.

We do work with Lots of mobile locksmiths, and they recommend us.

I am really sure Timpo locksmith would tell his customer where he got the blank from or reccomend us to them.NOT..LOL

Also I'm sure if I walk into a timpo branch and try and get a key blank of them they would help me.....

I do a lot of key cutting / keying alike / master keying ect ect for local locksmiths in my area as they don't have the facilities on their vans to do it. If they pay the price i'm asking i'm happy with that. Doesn't matter what company they're from.

To be fair to the Timpsons near me do send people to me if they can't do some keys or locks & i send some engraving items their way if the time scale is to short for me to day. Swings & roundabouts. I haven't asked them for key blanks but when my engraving machine went down the lads really help me out.

i do alot of jobs for timpson branches across my area , especially when keys get broking during a case repair , they always pay on completion and never quibble price and they send me a good few jobs each month . if its something silly they can fix themselves i explain what to do to them and they fix it at no cost , its swings and roundabouts , i help them with support if possible and they pass me whats beyond their kit and skill set , works for me .

i cant fault their customer service , if they break it they replace it and always no quibble and straight away and fully at their own cost.

I've never needed any help from a Timpson, my network of independent friends was built up using this every site. I wouldn't help a local Timpson shop. I would help the person in it, if I new them on a personal level and they weren't earning a bonus out of my generosity.

I can't imagine Tesco sending Aldi a thousand bottles of milk if they ran out. it just wouldn't make sense. but I bet several employees from each are best mates.

I complete at local level, I don't see timpson as a national chain, just a local competitor I am here to compete, there's no friends in business.

and that's the point! Both ways, were all competitors of theirs and they do there best at 'slatting us off' and making out how good they are - even the snotty kids that they now employ lol

I do the job because I enjoy it not because I love working for a certain company. Not all of us are in the position to have our own shops even if that’s what we are trying to work towards. I understand that having your own shop is different because everything you do comes out of your own pocket but I’ll always help the independent near me if he needs it. There’s nothing to say that the customers will come to us if he can’t do it. So a bit of help here and there doesn’t put me out at all.
