"SIMPLES" You can try and justify it any way you wan't but our industry doesn't need ill informed people like you who think price justifys everything. Firstly, for anyone starting out, they are not actually advertised as copies, so how does someone starting out know they are. second, it is not against the law to buy them, it is against the law to then sell them on knowing they are counterfeit products. There is a guy selling a copy zed bull on ebay if anyone is interested, and also I know of a shop that sells them in the North West. Third. Have you never copied a cd on your pc? played one in your car? ever watched a copied film? and I suppose you fit genuine ford (or whatever) parts to your car? answer yes to one of them, and you render your post pointless Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you wish to use dodgy methods and counerfeit goods then thats your choice,Im sure the law states it is not illegal to own, but illegal to use but as im not a lawyer i wouldn't like to stake my reputation on it. And that is for me the overiding factor in anything i do or have done and that is my reputation,if you do every job honestly and to the best of your abilities then no one can question your reputation. For me that has to be the overiding factor of everything i do,and i take great pride in the work i produce,i know there are better shoe repairers,key cutters and locksmiths out there, but my integrity is up there with the best of them. If you read the WHOLE thread, then you will see that someone who is thought very highly of on her first stated the fact that it is not against the law to buy them from china, it is against the law to then sell them on knowing they are fake. I am not breaking any laws. I do every job I do very well, I dont just do vehicles. Car keys is the smaller percentage of my business I didnt come here to wind people up as you say, I came here asking for justification on high prices, and a couple of people have put very good cased forward, and even changed my way of thinking. But for you to come and comment without reading the whole thing isn't right really. If you have read the whole thing, then you are surely gonna comment on the guy who first mentioned the legalities of buying one? I dont charge top prices, i make a fair mark up and labour charge. i dont HAVE to charge as much as you, as i've not laid out 12k for a programmer. Read the whole thread! After 30 odd years doing the same job, would you not want a change of direction and be able to test yourself in a new disipline.
