It states businesses providing repair services as long as it's their primary service can stay open, which is ok if you still have good footfall but as people should be staying at home there isn't going to many around for most of us. I think this will stop my insurance paying out this time as well, seeing as the clause is based on government closure. So it's sit at home and potentially get no insurance or open up and take no money!! Decisions decisions!! I am concerned about that as well for everyone but until the payments are made (or not) we have to wait to see what happens, like I said Siserve will be looking to the local council as we are extremely affected but we are not retail yet all our customers are. Hopefully we will start hearing soon who has received it
The Worksop Heel Bar
Businesses excluded from the fund You cannot get funding if: you can continue to operate during the period of restrictions because you do not depend on providing direct in-person services from your premises (for example accountants) you have chosen to close, but have not been required to close as part of national restrictions your business is in administration, insolvent or has been struck off the Companies House register you have exceeded the permitted state aid limit

I believe most councils are being helpful hopefully it won't be long before we get reports of grants being given to our trade. Once we get news (hopefully here) of the new grants being given it will help each other to reason with their council if they get refused.
grahamparker
Everyone is open in our town which is suprising as there are now 16 key cutters within 5 miles and i was told yesterday that will soon be 17. But we have had one of the best starts to the new year even with lockdown the trade sales of padlocks and keys are booming.

Think we should all move to Grimsby, its obviously leading the way in the economical recovery. Either that or there's a lot of fish sniffing going on. We supply keys and locks to just about every local factory/NHS, sole suppliers of all keys, locks and door closers etc to 2 main hospitals/2 major oil refineries/shipping/Transport/all the estate agents/Local Council/Supermarkets and housing associations. We are the only ones local than can cut all high security keys that none of the others can. That is why there are so many in such a small area. We also now supply one of the biggest online padlock retailers with all there duplicate keys. Thats one of the main reasons i have just ordered one of the new Silca Unocode series F900 fully automated key cutting and engraving machines. x minit uk

Michael
I've not opened but I went to the shop yesterday to check everything is ok and my town centre is dead! I live in a quiet town and we never heard of any cases until recently, seems to be quite a few now as well as a few deaths. Things suddenly turned a bit scary! I think I'd rather stay safe at home cutting the risk of infection than taking £50 a week if I'm lucky.

ponsaloti
Trying to limit my hours in the shop. Telling customers I'm in between 10 and 1, but call 1st encase I'm out on an emergency. Account customers have all been emailed these new shop core hours, and all 3 phone lines are diverted to me throughout the day. Sign on the door says "Out on call, Phone to find out when I'm back". Today 10 till 2 10 pre ordered p/locks for local council. Bipper ign key (cloned). Total of 4 mortice keys and 2 cyl keys. New battery soldered into a transit connect remote. Supplied and programmed proxy remote 2013 focus. Built 5 x 3g115 D/locks to key. To be collected by Hire company tomorrow. Replaced batteries in 3 vehicle remotes. Total of 4 phone calls outside of new core hours, 2 of which were nonsense quotes, 2 asking "when can they come to the shop".

windycity
I had to provide 5 proofs of ID for tier 4 closure online via a form, was a bit of a faff value£667.00 will get if applicable by mid to end February. Apparently it’s to stop fraud and application is decided via a out sourced company not local council direct.Lockdown grant when gov provide systems probably when lockdown ends like last time. England gov don’t payout quick!
