kobblers
This is the key in question. We've tried them off gauge and Spacegaurd keys but neither worked. Cheers. Rick.
derek
thin brass era key? cant remember the code, or do Henderson not do a brass mortice with the black plastic head, think it may be a 6 gauge though
Count Muppet
How about either of these? The gague would be useful. There used to be a brass Aldridge key that I always used to have trouble with, this looks similar.
kobblers
It's a very loose 5 gauge, almost 5½ but not quite. Cheers, Rick.
Gray
ERA "F" ? But the steel one, the HD steel ones seem a bit thinner than the brass ones.
Count Muppet
If a 5 gague is loose then it's either worn, poor quality or a 4.5 gague. I would guess poor quality.
Gray
Don't you mean 5.5 Gauge. 4.5 is thicker than a 5.
Count Muppet
Yeah. If the key rattles in the keyway then it needs to be thicker.
Gray
Yes.........So that would be a 5 gauge then. Rick said it's loose in a 5 gauge. So to me that would be 5.5 gauge.....Next size up is a 5 gauge not a 4.5 gauge. Count Muppet
I may be getting a bit confused. I thought If you put a 5 gague key into the keyway and there is still room then the 5 gague key is not thick enough. A 4.5 gague key would be slightly thicker and take up the room. Maybe I'm wrong but If that's not correct then I need to get some proper training.

Count Muppet
I'm reading it over and over and still can't work it out. The only thing I see is wrong is my spelling of gauge.
