Forest Cobbler
Please can someone explain to me why so many customers assume that there is only one shoe lace in a blister pack. I cannot find any logic in that assumption at all, yet day after day we get the same comment.

St.Am92
Heel grips, insoles etc. Some people shouldn't be allowed out by themselves.... It always seems to be the "educated ones" ,no common sense.

St.Am92
as long as they keep coming in they can ask me whatever takes their fancy, why does it bother you all so much Forget about rising fuel prices, unemployment, inflation, unfettered illegal immigration and 600 odd fraudsters sitting comfortably in london. Its the small things that get to at times. Now how did Houdini get these straps undone
StevenB
as long as they keep coming in they can ask me whatever takes their fancy, why does it bother you all so much 'cos you get people like the woman this morning: "Do you sell flower pedestals..?" "No madam, but I've got this superb range of laces, they're packaged in pairs, you know" Sometimes, you've got to laugh
theshoeman9
I had a guy in some months ago asking if i fixed bikes & a lady wanted me to superglue her vase back together ! I think just because we are cobblers people asume we can fix anything, which we probably can but where do you draw the line ? Maybe we should all diversify into fixing anything. But don't you just hate those 3 words when you get asked ' CAN YOU JUST' ?

Count Muppet
I had someone in asking if i sold ice buckets today. i hardly have any engravable merchandise as it is, why would i be specialising in ice buckets? i could guarantee if i pulled one out from under the counter it would be wrong size or shape
Forest Cobbler
Puncture repair kits, electrical fuses, torch bulbs ...... believe me, if our wholesalers supplied them we could sell them. And tax disc holders, you would not believe how many times we get asked for tax disc holders. Perhaps hardware is the next area for shoe repairers to diversify into. V I think you just need another wholesalers, Check out Toolbank we had to open an account with them to sell Abus padlocks when CK tools stopped stocking them. They sell all you list above and a whole lot more at fantastic prices, ant powder, power tools, fuses, torches, pen knives and thousands of other items.(can't find the tax disc holders but we have had them in the past). I have sold 3x hoses and reel sets, barrier tape, metholated spirits and line marking paint and a lawnmower this week alone. I sell power tools to all my friends and family at cost plus 15% they get a bargain and i get a nice little profit for virtually no effort. All delivered next day and as i now spend so much with them i also get free delivery. This is the main company that all the builders merchants buy from so give them a look. Three days before the snow arrived in december they had a special on snow shovels, the cost approx 3.50 each inc vat, after a week of snow they where retailing at over £30.00 each.I only bought a couple if only i'd known

windycity
its funny that hardware shops have crossed over to ourside already. when someones looking for a lock/padlock they often go to hardware shops and as hardware shops also cut keys bingo another lost customer that might not come back as we all know hardware shop cut keys very cheaply.
