An intelligent way to ask for a key ID

Recommended Posts

The enclosed pic is for a Brabantia key, for a mailbox. A customer emailed it yesterday.

I only publish it here, because the idea the customer had with the imprint of the profile in BlueTack seems really clever to me. Then again, I'm easily impressed.

I would make that on a Silca LF23R as 9032. Any disagreement with that?

Hv a gr8 day!

Excellent! I've tried a couple of times to take a profile image for a key I'm stumped on for posting to the forum, this makes sense! has to be the suggestion of the year & one hopefully members will take up!

Ive used blutack since i started key cutting, poss problems are that it distorts slightly as it sticks to key, also shrinks therby closing impression slightly.

A better solution is silly putty dont laugh it has better properties re shrinking etc and is used by some engineeres to impress profiles. but seems to be hard to find other then the internet

Try coating the key with a little WD40 before making an imprint, most have it in their shops, well they used to :?
