1986 timpsons sunderland  branch 727 if I remember right the pillock  who was the manager tried to half sole a pair  ffs   told him they don't stick  knock the heel block off   full sole them  ok tuck it under  the heel block   wouldn't listen ( your a cowboy from mister minit )  ended  up stapleing the waist   but ened up being area manager briefly ?

Yep, same.

This forum is amazing, i joined today and was only thinking about the old dri-ped leather soles last week, unreal co-incidence.

I used to repair a lot of these in the 'hole in the road' in Sheffield in the 80s then in Doncaster in the 90s.

Haven't encountered the stuff in 20 years now thank goodness.
