Perspex heel repair

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of PVC boots with perspex heels, and the body of the boot is coming away from the heel.

I have taken them to my local cobblers but he said he can't fix it.

Would any of you have a suggestion, or know of someone in the Southend/Westcliff/Rayleigh area or close by that can fix these?

I don't mind paying a reasonable as they were expensive to buy and are my favourites

I can post a picture if that helps

Thanks

Hi there,

I also have boots with a perspex heel. The bottom of one of the heels has fallen off. I’ve taken them to two repair shops, who both said that the only way to fix them was to glue on a new base to the heel and drill into it with screws. The screws would be visible and might cause the heel to shatter. The manufacturer can’t offer repair etc. only a refund for the sale price as I have no receipt.

Thanks,

Jessica

Easy enough to do, no screws or nails needed, but purely by design run the risk of this happening again, that’s the price of fashion!

find a different repairer. I could do them mail order but they aren’t that expensive in the first place so with postage both ways it probably wouldn’t be economical.

I have done one like this one in the past. Normal shoe repair glue with Black/Beige Rubber heels and it will stick OK. NO nails and screws as the clear Heel base will break into pieces.

Hi there, Is it possible to get a quote? Would be happy to post (or am London based)

I believe Lee based closer to you or there are many London area repairers on here who can help.

I am based around Midlands,  If none of the guys down south can help message me I should be able to repair it for you.

Thank you!

I don’t know why it’s been labelled “super glue” in this industry. It’s nothing like “super glue” IMO. It is it’s own product PC50 and I used PC790 activator.

It's probably because it's a cyanoacrylate adhesive which is usually marketed as a Superglue.

Done a quick google on your product and it looks pretty good; especially as it has some minimal gap-filling properties, which is always handy.
