Gray
If your talking Tibbe keys I have a Jakey Lynx. I reset all my machines every week. It's a bit of an obsession with me but I never get any keys back.
Ridgeback
I've got a big red RST machine supplied by SKS, not sure of the model. I bought it 2nd hand 4 years ago. I must cut over 400 tibbe blades, I've never changed the cutter or adjusted it. It cuts perfect, so if it ain't broke...... Regards
grahamparker
Silca Delta FO, must be over 15 years old now and still cuts perfectly. This is one machine i think i have only ever reset twice in all the years of ownership.

actionman
Silca Delta FO for me. I bought it used & it wasn't quite set up right, was cutting too deep so the 1st couple of tibbe i cut were getting stuck in the ignition barrel which wasn't really much of a drama. Easy to sort out & then set up the machine properly! Cut plenty since with no trouble at all
Count Muppet
I've got a key line focus. Very rarely have any back. I do file them to attempt to match wear a little so they don't get stuck in ignition
redcap
I NEVER get any back.... but then I only cut on site and everything is checked in all locks and signed for before I leave! I must say, however, given some of the spare key jobs I have had (where I have initially tried to decode the key instead of decoding the lock), I would never believe any regular off-site cutter who claims NEVER to have had ANY returns. Some tibbe keys are so worn that I struggle to reconcile the cuts with the lock, even after stripping out the discs to confirm them!!!.... (and I am NO amatuer.... most lost Ford/Jag tibbe key job are completed under 20 mins, including programming the chip and remote). Once every 5/6 weeks, on average, (usually out of 'normal' hours) I get called to a 'new' Tibbe key stuck in an ignition. I ALWAYS advise the customer to reclaim my charges against the original key cutter (which includes the dealers!) and to contact Trading Standards if there is any argument. completelocks
Never had one back neither. I too decode the lock on site. If one comes in the shop I will only cut off the key if it is without doubt what the cuts are. I use my RST duel machine with one of those little vices that allows the key to turn to the right number for the cut. Got it off to a T
hibsjo(SCO)
back to this old chestnut of third party say so? if i cut a tibbe and it got stuck in lock/ignition i would expect the customer to come back to me and ask me to solve the problem. however if they take the route of getting a third party to extract the key i would tell them to go and take a flying fcuk customer service to the highest standards at all time! carry on! grahamparker
I looked at the R1 rotating jaw on a silca factory visit in 2008 and after finding out the cost and discussing the pros and cons with Allesandro at Silca came to the conclusion that the Delta i already had would do just as good a job, and it still is. grahamparker
Good point but i already had the Abus skm6000 dedicated Granit machine and the AY jaw for the delta, and the fo19 adapter came with my 399 as part of the deal as well as the chubb ava adapter. Just have to turn the key manually in the adapter.

decker
Tibbe and SX9 stuck in locks are great money earners for me. A certain national well known key cutter and boot gluing company are always getting their keys stuck in customers locks and calling me out to sort it. I've adjusted various parts and ITS doing me head in lol Help needed ...... Pleaseeeeeee. The things I would checkon the cuts are first of all, is it keeping the flat un cut 'spin' down the middle of the key? secondly, are the number 4 cuts deep enough or too deep? They would be the easy ones to identify if its cutting too deep I would say. As far as adjusting it, I couldn't help without seeing it and using it really. Have you got a manual? if not then I'm sure someone will have, or you may be able to download one. I would follow the set up as if its just out the box.
