  1. Not really sure how you stand legally but morally it would be the wrong thing to do IMO. You would possibly receive a cease and desist notice from MTL but i don't think there has actually been a court case yet that i am aware of as the threat usually puts most people off. There is a possible court case brewing with the Easi entrie and Ansan machines as one manufacturer has had enough. One stand at lockex was duplicating Evva EPS and did not think there was any issue in doing this, about 2 hours hours later the machine was removed from the stand as they where issued with a warning so we will have to wait and see what happens in the not to distant future as there may finally be a court case over patented keys and a ruling made which could well set a precedent for (maybe unlawful) duplication of key blanks.
  2. Doubt that you will ever see a copy of this chip due to the way silca have protected the chip from counterfitting after what happened with the SBB unit.
  3. Blanks can be obtained from Israel that can be then used. I was offered some interactive blanks through a friend a few years back but declined the offer. The code on the blank had been ground off with a dremmel so you could not tell where they had come from.
  4. Agree with the above and would not give MTL a penny of my money either. Supply issues have been going on for years and the prices are getting ridiculous now. Read some of the locksmiths forums about them. Lock and Key will be along soon to tell you how wonderful they are and how fantastic the locks are. In my mind they are good but well overpriced for most.
  5. Metallic is no good, it needs to be conductive. http://uk.farnell.com/bare-conductive/epaint-pen-10ml/electric-paint-dc-pen-black-10ml/dp/2510616?CMP=KNC-GUK-GEN-SHOPPING&gross_price=true&mckv=YO18ZYDl_dc|pcrid|78108376509|&gclid=CjwKEAjwj92_BRDQ-NuC98SZkWYSJACWmjhlQklqYcj1kcagqmrIiZsFxV0Bwuhn81lTF4pkjrYobRoCnU7w_wcB&CAWELAID=120173390001619091&CAAGID=14406255429&CATCI=pla-41477300408&CAGPSPN=pla
  6. Easier to cut a depth key you can use it for manual measuring as well as the cut positions.
  7. In 35 years i have NEVER thrown 1 blank in the bin (tight northerner just cannot do it). I have in my shop now approx 18-20 keyboards of blanks. About 3 months ago a customer came in with an ignition from a 1960's Jawa motrobike. As it was a Czech bike i looked at the skoda blanks i had acrued and a Silca SK3 fitted perfectly. I stripped it down, cleaned it up and cut a couple of keys for him. He had been to quite a few other places and is know a regular customer.
  8. Decode it incorrectly earlier, i have just cut one for a customer and the code should be K5201. 1233 1321
  9. K7461 gives me cuts of 1123 3313 I'm certain it is K7369. So not the same code as for the plastic key in the photo. Pm me your address and i'll pop one in the post for you.
  10. Brisant E section. There is a genuine blank for these but ULO50 does fit ok.
  11. Do you mean GIFTS rather than gits. LOL According to my Wife i am a moaning old git (not even 50 yet) but i am not suitable for engraving.
  12. Only used a few silca blanks to test and they weren't great. Only buy Genuine blanks now.

  14. One of our biggest gripes with Trend, although to be fair they have got a lot better over the last couple of years.
  15. 14 degree angle. When i cut these on the magnum the cutter already in the machine decided which would be cut first. My shiny new R4 jaw finally showed up this morning so now cutting them on the Triax is a doddle.
