I have seen a number of these where the pin knock components off the board. Can't be sure but I think that might have happened on this one. Check if you can still read the transponder before reassembling.
grahamparker
Heres what you need to split them Circlip pliers and a little tip, save the original pin in case you drop the new one that comes with the case and you cannot find it on the floor. rapidlocks
unless your in nottingham , if in nottingham do it the well known nationals way and hit it as hard as you can with the biggest hammer you can find , i fix alot of these for a national the last one i went to for them the case wasnt even closed with the pin , he hadnt replaced the pin to keep it locked. so if in notts then please break them , and pass my number grahamparker and k4mrc
Count Muppet
The well known nationals (usually) use the exact same method as graham has mentioned above. Even down to saving the original pin just in case grahamparker
rapidlocks
depends on the person in the shop, also how stressed or busy they are , though breakages have slowed down in last 4 months , obviously i prefer the ones who are not so careful

As this key is for a takeaway delivery car in my street I managed to put it back together ( to use temporarily) and used a "corner arm on the spring" from an old key until I can get a new case. I managed to straighten the locking pin and put back in and the key works. I am waiting for delivery from 3D now thanks. Btw Graham how does the pliers get the pin out?. Count Muppet
The circlip pliers we use are a slightly different shape. I think they might be a little easier to use on the tougher cases as they seem to not slip so much. More like this sort of shape The Worksop Heel Bar
