Torment
That’s great thanks but I mean the programming of the key / transponder from a key programming perspective. I was led to believe I needed Red Master key otherwise can not add a new key but when making enquiries, I’m being told programming via Red Master key, is obsolete now and no one does it, and I must get an existing key cloned. Cos of type the Car, I’d prefer to get a genuine Ford key from Ford but Ford say they don’t cut key anymore ? Can I not just buy a key from Ford and have the key cut by a key cutter and program the key to the myself using the Red Master Key or am I better off just having an existing key cloned
grahamparker
If you can find a genuine Ford key with a red insert you can program yourself. Just need a local key cutter to cut it for you which may prove harder than obtaining a blank. Many key cutters for some bizzare reason refuse to cut customer supplied keys. We cut thousands and are more than happy to go so.

Auto Key Wizard
You have confirmed you have the red master key (the plastic head is completely red) All you need is one or more keys with 4C tranponders and they can be coded manually using the procedure above

Count Muppet
I guess it’s because cloning is so easy now the old ways and skills have been mostly lost

Order a key either from Ford or the eBay seller (Official Ford Store is a genuine parts supplier) I use them Have the key cut at a local key cutting shop Then code it yourself, Simples Any more further comments and I guess it's just to Torment us. Torment
Ok thanks, will do, especially as it looks to be the less expensive alternative
lock&quay
When decoding I hold it flat under a light .The light reflecting will be a 1 , if the cut next to the 1 looks like a 1 but no light is reflected it's a 2 . Turning the key slowly will help derifcinate the cuts .

mrkeys
to me that looks like 143441 looks like the 1 on the tip has worn down to make it appear like a
Count Muppet
That’s very worn. Maybe a 1 or 2 would work whichever you cut a nice new lockset would save them from future problems. Assuming it’s a transit. They wouldn’t want to miss a days work because the worn out lock fails

Better still just fit new discs in each lock. Cheap enough to come by, I still have a few original ones left when I assembled the local dealers kits for them.
