T.Colledge are hosting a mini show at the Aztec Hotel in Bristol, a familiar venue to us and we will be there with a couple of small machines to chat to anyone about their needs. Along with us will be Davenport Burgess, U-Marq and Glenway

Wonder how many shoe repairers would buy new machines now if they can get their old one serviced and repaired , let’s be fair shoe repairing not a up and coming market more like on its last legs , just my opinion

Like shoes you mean?  It's definitely a changed market, our bread and butter is through repairs and spares it has been for a long time

I was so busy in other areas of my business I didn’t get a chance to switch on my machine yesterday, but the shoes piled up. It was a visual realisation how busy repairs still are.

not up and coming granted. But stable it most definitely is.

for me cutting edge damaged the show themselves, with all the attempts to do fund raising and sinking money into and the buying the SoMSR far from being respected they became a bit of a laughing stock.

colledges are respected well and so can promote and produce a credible show that people want to attend.

cutting edge should have stuck to a magazine and a show imo

got to agree with lee  about somsr, buy theres a general appethey in this trade , ive always supported the show ( love a night out in a strange town, and theres a great indian in Solihull) . use it or loose it, in fairness phill binns told ne he did more business at a regional show in   the north east than at  the last cutting edge

Don't get me started on the 'Trade' show, but regionals are a good idea imho, I would have regionals and mix it with a central show every three years, Just my opinion, then everyone gets a chance to see what all the suppliers have to offer, locally and Nationally.

That's more or less what we will be doing now on, smaller show next year in Edinburgh then the larger one 2020 followed by a different regional one the year after. We just wanted to fall in line to alternate the years without the big locksmith show hence the gap this year.

there was a cutting edge show at Manchester a few years ago , if my memory serves me right standards didn't attend coz they were too busy , in fairness its a shame the attendance at the last ce show was so poor use it or loose it

Er, wrong, we couldn't attend the 'Leeds' show, we were at Manchester, which was a disaster :-(

Will all suppliers be getting an invite to Edinburgh Pete?
