Mike at Vauxhall
My average transaction time is 20/30 seconds, on paper not long, but feels very long when customers want/expect to tap and go. Is anyone quicker, I believe it might be down to my phone line.
cobbcas
Square card reader works through my moblie phone best thing I ever did no phone line. I now save around £58 per month & any telesales calls get blocked so I'm saving time answering the phone also!!

kirkybob
the problem I have is customers think when the machine beeps its finished and they are out the door like racing snakes. When in fact the beep is only to confirm the machine has read the card. had a couple of cases where they where gone like jack s**t only for the transaction not to go through ( usualy lack of funds), wonder if they know and its a new kind of shop lifter. I am thinking to move the card machine on to the broadband see if it speeds up, anyone any experience of using broadband and is is quicker ?. grahamparker
Broadband is a lot quicker especially if it is hardwired to the router but be wary of WiFi i had loads of issues dropping connection had 2 replacement units all from Worldpay in the end we swapped to a mobile sim card unit (costs are the same) yes it is slower but saves having to reboot every few hours sometimes keeping a customer waiting for 10 minutes or longer. It averages about 15 seconds for a transaction but some can take up to 60 seconds at peak times.
St.Am92
I use sum up.authorization goes through very quickly , works through your phone/tablet Bluetooth connection.
Michael
I have mine connected by ethernet cable and contactless still has that slight delay. It used to authorise instantly but now you have to wait for it to "go through". I've had a couple of occasions where the customer was virtually out the door and I had to call them back because it never authorised the payment. SteelCityShoes
Mine is on broadband and is still slow. I’m looking for something quicker as I got stung for £30 at the weekend, it’s not the first time
grahamparker
Just ask customers to wait until verification from your machine, we do. If they start to walk out we just say "the card has not authorised yet" never lost a payment once. Mike at Vauxhall

I’ve started doing that but I wouldn’t mind getting on whatever McDonald’s use, by the time it’s finished the beep it has been authorised
