autolock
Can anyone recommend a good tool for attaching lace hooks to climbing boots,i have seen one on a bench mounted press but it was very old and not sure if it is still made.
elfman
these were available from george barnsley called ski hook anvils unfortunatly woodare repetiions did not carrry on with them however you could make one all you require is a large bolt about 2 inch octaganal head and a piece of 1/8 plate steel cut a slot in the bolt head about 3/4 inch wide fix the plate to the bolt and you have your anvil the last one i got was 9 years ago and was £48 + VAT

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Healy's cpould get the Ski Hook Pliers and dies to go with it, rather an expencive tool though. I still use mine for dura dots & press studs on family items.
autolock
is it actually a type of pliers or a bench mounted tool? ive seen the bench mounted tool with a revolving multihead which i think is £600 plus vat
Lee
I don't do enough of them to warrant expenditure on tooling. I use a dished press stud die for the hook, a piece of metal to stop the hook collapsing on itself & a hammer & last. works for me. Lee
petercoulson
You mean this: You get the machine then tell them the attachments you want as there are loads of them.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
The hand (pliers)tool cost around £70 the bench mounted one is a lot of dosh when you add up all the extra dies, just for a couple of Ski hooks etc. I've used both and prefer the hand tool as you cant get that bench mounted machine into the places that the hand tool will go.
