St.Am92
i charge £5 for either pu or metal, seems a fair price to me.
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Price would depend on the area, the shoes and your profit margins. £5 is fair for the general crap that is floating about, but very cheap for designer footwear or upmarket high street locations. Increase by20% and see what happend, if you get a reation then you can always drop the price, but if not then increase them by 10% the following wek until you find what the market will take. (now I bet that will start a backlash)
Lee
I put my prices up Yesterday, 1st November Stilettos are now £6.00. So far no complaints Lee
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
And I do not think you will get any, apart from the usual moan at anything brigade, of which I'm now part of. 20% overnight and not a Titter

robinh
I AM too cheap !!! The most expensive PU top we sell to you guys is less than 30 pence per pair. Maybe I should put my prices up ? What is a fair price?
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
10p But you need a £30 grands worth of equipment to complete the job, unless you are working on a shoe string set-up. What would I need to sell the Top-Pieces? I could work from home and sell my Top-Pieces from a few square foot of Garage space and get my orders from the Internet, virtually no overheads and cutting out the Wholesaler, someones already doing it on e-bay. What a sorry state of affairs it would be if it came to that and our trusted Wholesaler with the Reps and Vans found they could not compete. Have they really gone up that much from 10p
Guest lee.
Our price for metal or Pu tops is just £4.99, with NO hidden extras , such as extra charges for drilling out or replacing tubes , all shoes are sprayed up to the correct colour if needed , covers and flaps stuck back down, our largest ladies Rubber heel is just £5.99 and we even fit the small brass triumph toe plates Free of Charge if the shoe needs them, as well as giving them a good polish and tidy up , and some of our customers still moan about that ! . We have a fellow independant in B'Ham city centre who charges just £2.50 for pu or metal tops, and a maximum of £3 for any size ladies heel , how can we compete with that when we have high rent and rates , Vat and wages to pay , perhaps he just does it for the love of it ! . Keep your prices the same James , we get lots of Customers due to Timpsons high prices !!!!, I may not seem much at betwen £2 and £3 a pair more than we charge , but when the Customer brings in several pairs at a time it soon adds up . Guest jamesstratton
i'm always happy to do a deal though. i wouldn't lower my prices too much anyway. my customers are happy with my prices, if i were to lower them it would be less money all round. i would make less bonus and the other repairers in town could struggle to keep the customers. k4mrc
which of you with the lowest prices incl vat? as previous posts are suggesting otherwise. if your vat registered and still charge 4-99 - 5-99 for all ladies heels you really must be working hard. alxfer
I'm the same as Danny, 5.00 and 5.50. I am reviewing after Christmas and reckon I will be going up 50p. In the end, it depends on where you are operating from. I reckon on an extra 50 pence because you can get a pair if pipe pliers on it to twist it out of the customers hand. earlsdoncobbler
which of you with the lowest prices incl vat? as previous posts are suggesting otherwise.if your vat registered and still charge 4-99 - 5-99 for all ladies heels you really must be working hard. that`s a good point with prices vat or no vat i am £4.25 for both & no vat as yet getting closer with vat i would have to be £5 just to stand still but my overheads are low so it helps to keep my prices down

x minit uk
£5 for both pu and metal Thats way to cheap For Bristol in my opinion, I was charging £7 and that was over 3 years ago. And dont say people will not pay it, they will, just look at the Timpson store in the center, takes up to £7000 per week.
KJ SOLUTIONS
I was £5 for Stilettos I put my prices up in August thay are now £6.00 no complaints.
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
That's the way to do it. Your goal in life should be to make as much as possible out of your business while still keeping your customers and gain more in the proccess. It is not to provide your customers with the cheapest job, allowing their standard of living to flourish at your expence. It is far easier to raise the prices a little each year (5%) than to hike them up to a 20% inrease 4 years on because of dramatic increases in your running costs. Guest Phill
lets face it would you quibble over £1 if you thought you were getting the best repair, as long as your realistic £5.50 would be no different to £6.50 if the experiance for the customer is positive. So Danny you could easily raise your price by 10% in my opinion
slippy
If youv'e got a national repair group near you people will think that your to cheap. Got one just opened close to me.
