Card Payment Providers - Looking to Switch

Just out of curiosity which card providers are people using? Have been with Worldpay for nearly 10 years and in the last year the fees have increased by £250. 

Any suggestion for a new provider

Worldpay.

Tried others had loads of problems.

Just increase prices to cover the costs, also worth considering asking them for a better deal.

Got my Terminal for £1 a month rental for 15 months and much lower prices but we do put over 100k through our terminal per year.

Avoid RMS No cooling off period when you decide to cancel as they are a membership service. Took months to prove i had returned the terminal to them even though they where trying to charge me for not returning. I sent Special Delivery rather than the free option they offered as I had the feeling something may happen.

I know a lot of people use Sum up and the like and at least they do not have terminal charges like others but payments can take a while to hit your bank.

Worldpay wouldn't budge on the pricing. Terminal charge is £15/m and rates going up to 1.65% in May. My average monthly invoice charge went from them went from £45/m up to £90/m in a year.

I have the whole SquareUp Register system as my POS system so card payments are built in. I can also take payments on my phone if I'm away from the shop.

I pay a little bit more per transaction (1.75%) but that's all I pay, no machine rental etc...and I get the money next day, even over weekends.

Also intergrates with Xero accounting software.

I use Sumup, similar to mike it's not the cheapest on fees but I've bought (two) machines outright and their app also takes contactless payment using my mobile phone. 

I don't put enough £ through it to be worth switching to a cheaper provider. Payouts could be quicker sure, but I get enough cash sales to avoid issues.

sum up saved hundreds of ££££s since i  moved from world pay

if your taking less than 5k a month it,s a no brainer

I was with worldpay signed a 2 year contract, I informed them after 5 years I'm leaving, it was a rolling contract I had to pay to leave, The term barge pole springs to mind, Been with Square last 9 years been good for me

World Pay, dont pay anything for the terminal.

Was with World Pay for years and ended up paying them a fortune in fees for my very small turnover with them.

They offered great deals to stay with them at the time however I felt they'd gouged me for long enough.

Have been with Sum-up for the last 9 (?) years or thereabouts.

Very easy to sign up with them. Their only fee is the 1.69% and, of late, their payment comes through a bit quicker.

Their reader is portable & links to phone app so I can take it anywhere.

Happy  user although I'm sure there are other providers equally suitable.

Takepayments/Barclaycard

Higher price for terminal and PCI compliance but the costs per transaction are the lowest available (250k we put through it) If your turnover is lower there will be cheaper options but if your turnover is higher you need to be giving them a call

new customers get a years rental for free... obviously contract you to longer.

Takepayments have quoted me the best price (so far) based on yearly turnover
