What is the right thread to repair a shoe's sole?

Get some Stormsure.

I use it to repair the sole plates on football boots. Horrible stuff to use (make sure you wear disposable vinyl gloves!) but sticks like s**t to a blanklet!

Agree, it sticks almost anything to anything but is so runny it does make quite a mess.

Try superglue!..............................What?...............................And grahamparker is talking about ticks......(Bugger he was but has changed it)  never mind here's some advice if your pet has ticks.......Our cat had one once.........terrible bloodsucking things......By the time it had come back from a dirty few days away the tick had grown to the size of a small malteaser..The ones you find in the packet that haven't passed quality control ..........Don't twist ticks off or you'll leave the head in....You need to pull them off.... :smt102  :smt102

Super glue?

I hope you were joking.

I am looking for a professional suitable adhesive.

And the issue is not the brand.

i am trying to understand what kind of adhesive is  proper for my blown rubber?

The neoprene one?the polyurethane? etc.

After i will figure it out,i will be able to look for a brand, that their adhesive will be based on this proper material.

I bonded many shoes before and i used the standard neoprene contact glue.

But during the years the manufacturer began to use different composition for the shoes

and the standard neoprene glue doesn't bond well the outsole.

Stage 1, Choose the correct adhesive. (The equipment you use will help to decide which is the best for you) If in doubt use a polyurathane....

Is it mean that polyurethane adhesive is good for all kind of soles?include the blown rubber, thermoplastic elastomers etc.?

It depends if you can identify the exact materials to be bonded and the equipment you are using, i.e. do have a press? do you have a heat lamp? do you have a proper last and stand?. If in doubt use polyurathane it covers more materials than neoprene, but which primer to use?

No,i don't have a special equipments.

I use to bond my shoes with neoprene glue and press it with heavy object.

It did the job but of course not good as with the proper equipment.

This is the reason why it is very important,at least,to use a good quality and proper adhesive

Must i use primer?

Is there a type of polyurethane glue that doesn't need primer and heating of 70°C-80°C while pressed,

before i will start my searching?
