ironplanet uk900
Replacement Units on collapsed thurmo through sole, and fitting a mock welt... £
k4mrc
Very good job, (but we is £59 for Vibram so maybe you should push the price up - Vibram sole units have gone up in price recently) Just saying
cobblers&keys
I did a similar job on a blokes biking boots using a leather through sole and a vibram unit. £85 customer over the moon as he took them to the '' big boys'' before me and they didn't want to touch them. ironplanet uk900
To be honest I quoted £50 with the intention of putting a cheaper unit on, but I had the Vibrams in stock so I just used them, the boots only cost her £45 so I did well to get £50 out of her.. still good profit in the till at the end of the day. ironplanet uk900
£35 profit, did em between lots of other work on Saturday, job was on the shelf within 2 hours of being took in. I could have asked more... but I doubt I'd have got the job... rather have £50 in the till than a pair of units sitting on the shelf... business sense! Michael
good job to both lee and mark i too get theses jobs however when i quote the price customers think i am having a laff and mine are lower than yours by at least 10 to 20 % Same here My customers wouldn't pay more than £15 to repair these, especially if they only paid £45 for them. Gutted really as it would be a very satisfying result to see the difference before and after and the customer would have virtually a brand new pair of shoes. Michael, Just had a conversation with Lee in the chatroom... She actually came in 3 times before committing to the job, I had to really work on her. Explain about the Thurmo that was on & what she would be getting... People who say they'd have charged £80 + simply wouldn't have got the job. Michael
Yes, your right, if I go in with the attitude that they're not going to pay the price then I've lost the customer before I start. Must be positive and SELL myself as well as the repair =D>
elfman
i quite agree however i do tell them whats required and that it will be as good as new but up here the complain about paying 1.75 for a key or 3.50 for heels so expecting them to hand over 40 or 50 pound is like your living on another planet lost count how many times they say oh they only cost me a tenner to buy
