kev
Got shafted by the Chinese on that one... Rick, those ones are old stock - send them back to us and ask for the stock from the new supplier. The original supplier has been booted into touch and the new boxes we have are spot on. How do I know this? Guess who had to "refurbish" shedloads of them????

If they're old stock and known to be crap then why were they sent to me? Not just once either.... I understand that Birch had to get rid of them but they should've sold them cheaper with the fault made obvious. I'm trying to run a business and It's a ballache having to fix things that I've paid for. I can't send them back, I had to use them up for an order. Rick. Gray
If Birches knew there was a problem and Kev had to refurbish them because, which he has admitted on here God love him, were Chinese and they got shafted and you had all the shit ones which does'nt mean you should have got shafted too. then I think you should be compensated in some way. mrkeys
Tell you guys what. It's not just the Tankard boxes either where Birch are concerned I ordered x2 satin lined Hip flask boxes from them so I could test the quality. Exactly the same problem as the OP had, lining coming away at the sides and the small packing beads falling all over the place. Had a problem with Compacts last year from Birch as well, the clasps we garbage and nipped together so badly you could only use around half of any order. Returned a few separate compact mirror orders before giving up on them and getting from another supplier. And also last year they had printed key rings with vehicle logos on them - The printing on the logos was incomplete and in many cases came off after a few weeks. It seems over the last year they have been shafted a few times by the chinese, but what I find very disturbing is that they keep passing on the cr@p to everyone else. Yes they usually exchange or credit you if you complain however I'm sick of complaining, I don't want to have to complain I want to receive a quality product which is what they promise to deliver. Even if it costs a bit more, it won't matter if I have piece of mind and reliability. They have some improving to do if you ask me. I still use them to the tune of about £500 a month (Not much, but still if a customer was giving me £6000 per year I would not be selling them chocolates and feeding them sh1t ! )
