i would just like to say that Kevin at Siserve was extremely helpful in advising me on how to wire up the new motor i ordered for my old 29k patcher, had it wired up in 10 minutes and machine stitching perfectly, also the lady who answered the phone was extremely pleasant, 5 star service all round

My pile of bits arrived yesterday & so I cleared my work & fitted it this morning

Laid out & ready to install.

First of all I lined everything up, drilled & tapped some mounting holes (you could drill bigger holes & bolt straight through, but I like my tap stock!)

Next I mounted the connections box (after drawing a wiring diagram!) Note the rubbers at the end, I didn't like the crudeness with which the ends had been daggered!(below) so cleaned them up a bit!

Wired & tidied everything up. I cut of a good 3' of cable to the peddle as there was loads! & I was pleased to see a good long power cable in there as well.

Lined up the pulley.

Added the belt.

Sawed off the second unneeded pulley spindle.

And away it went!

Having faffed about with a couple of jobs it seams that whilst the motor is very torquey the belt slips marginally on take up. I might tighten it a little or see if I can get a V-Belt for it. But other than that its bloody superb! I also keep going to peddle! LOVING IT! not to fast, not to slow. A perfect motor for the job!

The Industrial Revolution was allready in late 1700.... But you missed it I think.... :-k :-k

We are using the electric motor on the patcher since 1968! (Not we, but my dad! I was just one year then. :-{{{ )

I had to check out old pictures and found the first electric patcher in our store on a photo from that year.

Come on you English people, we are living in the 21st century...
