Christhecutter
Attempting to do a key for a 2007 Ford Mondeo estate, key cut fine, attempt to copy chip using TRS5000 machine and TPX2 chip and the copy seems to be successful, no error message and copy ok message displayed. however when i go out to the customers car to test the key, when it turns in the ignition, the dash lights up then on the final click the immobiliser cuts in and a red light flashes on the dash. Spoke to sks and they didn't really provide any help on the issue as there was no error message on the machine and the machine reads the key as being coded. Any ideas? Gray
No hope for you son if you can't tell the difference between a Focus and a Mondeo...
Count Muppet
Focus can have a maximum 8 keys with 4 of those being remote keys, that's what my handbook said anyway. Maybe they have gone through a few keys and not erased the old ones?
Lee
he's not programming, but cloning. Something has to have gone wrong with the cloning. Faulty chip or procedure? Does the original still work? Lee
Christhecutter
Something has to have gone wrong with the cloning. Faulty chip or procedure? Does the original still work? Lee Tha'ts what I thought but i didn't want to waste another TPX2 chip when the TRS said everything was fine. The original works fine. Having since heard back off SKS they seem to think that there is an issue with the TPX2 chip and the 2007 range of Focus. JMA apparently also know about it and are trying to sort a fix. Sounds a bit dubious to me but then again, thats me who doesn't know the difference between a Focus and a Mondeo
grahamparker
It may sound stupid but did you try turning the chip upside down and giving it a go.?
Christhecutter
uummm, not sure. The guy who works with me dealt with it in the end while I had to go out. I know he tried a combo of alternatives with the original and the new copy but I wouldn't of thought he'd of turned the chip round in the carrier. The customers a regular so i will try that and see if it sorts it.

grahamparker
I had a complete failure yesterday on a 2001 kia sportage,it would not work with a tpx2 locked or unlocked or with an eh2. But the local kia dealers could not program a new key either so that may have been more of a car issue rather than chip.If i took the eh2 out of the case and held it against the plastic cowling it worked once in about 30 attempts. Checked the transponder aerial and it was in the correct position and worked everytime with the customers original. Even tried programming with my ad100 but refused to communicate with the car. Gave up in the end.
