Dave Millman
I need some help!! Key blank needed for this key, it does have a chubb head but owners think that the shaft has been snapped and a new head soldered on to extend the key. The lock has a square curtain and the end of the key has square edges to suit. To be honest i'm stuck, someone must know of this blank....i hope!! Mick Friend
Its a chubb RST? or restricted blank is should have a dealer number stamped into it - if its a real bovver you can swop the bolt thrower and leverpack for a real one. No idea where to get blanks as they are supposed to be restricted Oh Yeh! is it for the 3G114 or 3G110 lock?
Lee
this is the chubb rks system blank which is patented so very hard to get hold of. the head is correct the welding is because the key has been lengthened to fit the door, even standard they are not this long. Dave Millman
Cheers guys, the key has got a number on the head: 170. This key is part of a 5 lock, keyed alike system so don't really wanna be messing around with all 5 locks really. Will there be no way of going straight to chubb or the installer of the locks and getting the blanks or may fabbing something up??
Mick Friend
RKS! Yes I remember now.......ooooh where's my potty .....ooooh too late dribble dribble. I never said this . so don't go repeating it I do believe a gauge blank may fit but never tried it -p chubb should give you some help on the centre = Oh Yeh and god lives in my jocky shorts
Lee
I do believe a gauge blank may fit but never tried it anyone else done that? a great tip! Just bear in mind even if you get the right blank, it looks like the original has been extended, so the original blanks won't be long enought, so Micks suggestion may be the best one to try. grahamparker
I think you can cut these if you are a chubb super centre, have a google for your nearest. Expect to pay a premium price for these as the blanks from chubb where quite expensive to start with.
Count Muppet
Maybe you could clamp a standard chubb blank in your machine with the collar to the right of the jaws, this way you should be able to turn the keys to cut the bottom and sides aswell. Hopefully

Mick Friend
This thread has had a link to it placed on the MLA forum, to which I have not been a member for a few weeks - had a well wisher advise me of its presence - Nice one if I copied MLA stuff over here they would have a real go.......... Lee
So whats the big deal? It don't bother me to be honest, we rant about things, so do their members. its how professionally & respectfully you conduct yourselfs as a organisation that really matters. I've no doubt we as members have this balance correct. If your a member of the MLA why not join our little place on the www, you know you want to............ O' and its FREE Lee
Mick Friend
Big John has confirmed that if you are using genuine blanks there is no problem - Hi Guys
grahamparker
Hi Mick, Does that mean that as far as the MLA are concerned you no longer exist??? Very harsh and short sighted of them if this is the case due to your knowledge and service you have given them over the years. It's good that you can still give advice on this forum that im sure many members are gratefull for. Cheers Graham
Mick Friend
I do not fit into any of their new catergories. I do not trade as a locksmith so I cant be one of the new uninspected members - I dont work for anyone unless the new magazine is seen as an employer so I cant be in the BLA - so they would rather let me leave than find a bucket to put my membership in.
