Mick Friend
TOP-TOP TIP do not leave the wheel in the water when not in use, it can distort the wheel, drop the water tray off when you have finished. The out of water bit dries out and that in the water expands - ooooowch. Ask me how I know, sometime
Lee
My wheel hasn't distorted? Perhaps its down to usage? Lee
Mick Friend
cost me £80.00 for a new one. Not axminster it was the other type who's name escapes me but from hurdie gurdie land. send it back and that was their reply - distorted having been left to dry out whilst the bottom half was in water - this is why we make the tray removable and provide a base for it to stand on between uses...... Michael
Have you placed magnets in the bottom of the water tray to collect the metal swarf, or you can tape them to the outside with duct tape...makes it easier to clean and stops the wheel picking up the swarf... apparently

Simes
Regular truing of the wheel is a must! Definitely worth getting the truing tool asap. Take your time when truing it up too, otherwise you will lose loads of material off of the wheel.

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
After spending 50 years sharpening I would recommend only this. If you have staff using the equipment then be very aware of H&S and proper training. A couple of my staff had horrendous accidents with Garden Shears some years ago. Make sure you have a written set proceedures for each type of device being sharpened.(SUE4U will be after you if you dont).
Michael
This service is going rather well. Posted out flyers to the 25 odd hairdressers and barbers in town and have done a few pairs already, but I am looking for a company to supply the screws, washers and other accessories so I can offer a full service on the scissors ( and in case I lose them when taking them apart ). Any one know of any trade suppliers? Google not helping much!!!
kobblers
Have ya tried Screwfix.com? Rick.
Michael
Didn't think of there..thought it would be specialist screws and those little plastic, cone type washsers. I think all the tensioners and finger bars I will have to get through proper hairdressing supplies.
