Not sure if anyone can advise?. This issue became apparent when cutting the silca ka8 kaba micro keys with the k18 part. There is a discrepancy between the cuts, each time I cut, I have recalibrated and saved 4 or 5 times. These differences wouldn't be so obvious on other larger keys, but they are apparent on these. So I'm trying to figure out why. Each stime the process starts, the cutter end touches the 01r jaw to get its starting measurements, sometimes it touches once, then proceeds to cut, sometimes it nudges a few times, then starts cutting. I've noticed a small hole on the point where it measures on the 01j jaw. Should this be there or is this due to the cutter probe touching thousands of times? Yea I've never truly noticed this until now. I've cleaned it up and am still experiencing the same problems. I've had the futura now 7 years, so it's touched that thousands of times to leave a small divot?. Would that be effecting the small differences on these keys or, there's every chance I'm talking nonsense? I think it must be doing this on other ones such as magnum, as I've noticed some small differences when cutting the same key twice. Thanks in advance.

Survey
abababa replied to lock&quay's topic in Key Cutting - Sponsored by What's The Damage & Locking Systems
I do the survey. Free of charge. No benefit to myself. About 80 hours of work last time. Even among the long standing members of this forum and a lot of coaxing on my behalf, they didn't bother their bottoms to compete the last survey. What do you do when the people you are trying to help, don't want to be bothered. -
An utterly condensing and unequivocal pompous comment

What blanks ??
abababa replied to Ian platt's topic in Key Cutting - Sponsored by What's The Damage & Locking Systems
These are quite popular atm in my area. Is there an aftermarket blank for this apart from universal gauge ones? -
I don't agree. We are not fast food outlets. If the person is a sole trader it is impossible to deal with these requests efficiently. Owners and managers are entitled to have their own turn around times without compromising service or reputation.

This is done on a trust basis. Once sold, donate what you feel appropriate.

would anyone be able to assist with this window handle key and cuts?. I'm not too sure which blank will do. Cs7 starts to go in, but won't. Many thanks

Zerolift Cylinder
abababa replied to Paul_'s topic in Key Cutting - Sponsored by What's The Damage & Locking Systems
I got a couple of those cylinders. Good quality. In regards to key cutting, i found it harder to get a key that wouldn't work. YA1E, IE6, Eurospec blanks all worked well on the cylinders i have. -
It's not just the 5 - 10 minutes of time giving advice, it's the 5 minutes afterwards correcting the display when they have picked 5 - 6 pairs of their correct display hook and put them back on the wrong positions.
