aam
Is anyone cutting Caveo keys using the code printed on the card with the cylinder? Barnsley lock say they’re “the only company in the UK with the ability to be able to cut genuine Caveo keys from your code number”.
grahamparker
Absolute Tripe, We have cut over 30 keys to code so far using genuine blanks. Anyone with a Triax and Silca software can cut them to code, Genuine blanks from Aldridges. We already had the specified cutter for them and they work fine. aam
I thought that didn’t sound right. I’ve added a couple of the cylinders and some blanks on my Aldridges order to see what they’re like.
Peaky
They all have the same laser cut so you only need to cut the dimples. They are a reasonable lock, would be great if they had different laser cuts. I particularly like the coloured inserts you can put in the head. Blanks are a good price. Why would they be great if they had different laser cuts??? When picking, these can be manipulated on yale/magnum superior quite easily. The average punter will now know. Why is it so important for your needs?. Would genuinely like to understand?

If all the laser cuts are the same what's the point of them being there? It may as well just be a normal dimple lock. It makes them easy to open with a modified key. A certain tool can be made from modifying a key that opens them in seconds (ive made mine and it works flawlessly) I also suspect it opens them up for bumping. The more switched on customers of mine will, at some point, recognise the laser track is the same on all their keys and question why this is so. If the laser tracks had different biting like the yales, apecs, magnums, milas etc etc then the number of key differs increases massively. With them all using the same laser cuts I'm not even sure they can get or deserve a diamond or even 3* rating. And lastly but most importantly, my own personal preference, I buy my stock based on what I would expect and want if I was the consumer and if there were 2 locks there to choose from with one having different cuts on the laser track and the other having the same cuts on the laser track as everyone else's key I would opt for the one with unique cuts everytime. I can't consciously big up a product that in my eyes has a flaw. We're all entitled to our opinions and these are just mine. abababa

Growster
We have a code here, but it only has 6 digits for the dimples. This being a direct bitting, I am stumped, the key has 7 cuts.
grahamparker
There are smaller barrels that will possibly only have 6 cuts ie 30/30. I have a card in front of me now for a 35/35 this has 7 cuts the code is the cuts from the tip to the shoulder so reveresed like yale. Therefore leave the last cut blank on insert a 1 cut.
