There is a card on my triax pro so there should be one for the Futura.

Anyone able to confirm the card number for the track on the Z12B for the Futura?  For some reason mine isn't cutting it long enough so the key doesn't fully enter the lock.  Was trying Card 4558.

The track is shorter on all Yale DEF, 1 Star and 3 Star to save excess cutter wear (Silca uk told me this). We’ve cut hundreds on the Triax without issues.

That's interesting, that is what I told the customer.  They have sent me the codes now so I'll decode them again and see what happens.  Thanks

It’s hard to tell on my phone but your side cuts may be a fraction to deep.

My cut keys matched the key card when decoded.  My guess is the lock is a bit sticky with it being a new key.  Maybe some graphite or GT85 will help.  Maybe the customer was too gentle trying to put the key in.  Who knows.  Cut them two new ones to try.

@Simes you seem to ask for answers for problems you are having which is great.   They community stands with you

When is the last time you have helped a member with their problems?

I’m sorry I didn’t realise their was someone monitoring and checking:shock:

I guess the answer to that question is not that often.  The reason?  Most of you guys are way more experienced than me on aspects of key cutting, engraving and shoe repairs and usually have answered the questions from others before I even see them.

Approximately, 80% of my day is spent programming car keys diagnostically, which is not the most active topic on the forum.  That I could probably help with if I’m there were more questions.

I will be completely up front that I don’t spend much time looking at the forum unless I’m stuck with something.  I don’t have my notifications on for the forum (perhaps I could change that).

If the forum was more used for car key programming I guess I would contribute more.  Personally, when I do contribute, I don’t then start analysing how much I get back in return.  I give because it helps someone out, which I think is the case for most in the forum.

Graham is an excellent example in that way, for which I am very grateful.

All that said, I will switch on my notifications and see what I can add.  However, I certainly won’t then go and monitor that individual to see what they give back.  Thats not what giving is about in my book.

That is the worst comment I have ever seen on here. Who are you to judge what others do ?. Seems like you’re just here trolling members. Still haven’t forgotten your snide comments about my stock levels and you wanting a count. When did you last help someone other than your Leary comments.

I find it quicker  to copy these  HD Punto ( customised by Dave Fotheringham RIP)  & the  RST Tm303.

Having said that I'd be a bit stuffed if I had to cut one from just the card as I can't remember how to read it .

The code is the cut depths from tip to head.

So when we enter the code in Silca software and send to the triax we reverse the number as the software enters the shoulder cuts first and the tip last.

Not sure if instacode reverses it for you as we don't use it.

Update on this.  The keys were cut as per the code cards and just don't go far enough in the lock.  I suspect the the track is definitely too short.  Not really sure where to go with this now.

Track is correct, depth of track may be the issue, on my software (Silca SKP) i can adjust X,Y and Z depths by a + or - figure.

Only used it on Yale superiors a few times but never had to bother on the Z12B.

Have you checked the cutter is ok ?

I'll have a look at the cutter.  That's a good call.
