petercoulson
I don't think it will help it's the thread on the inside which is a special left handed one also some of the WHB ones are curved both sides whereas these are flat one side but the dimension are od - 45mm id 12mm
Payson
Thanks again, Peter. My neighbor is an engineer of the old school and may have the older left hand thread reamer bits still so I’ll have to check it out.

petercoulson
Remember they are left hand thread usually the have a hole or 2 in them use a punch and hit it very hard SteelCityShoes
Payson
Yeah, they were stuck pretty good. I had a go sharpening them and one I had to leave on the spindle as I couldn’t get it off. Mine don’t have the holes for a punch though. The one that came off I got it in vice grips with some skived off sole leather scraps to soften up the teeth from scratching a bit. Anyone have experience or good tried and true methodology for sharpening these kind of round blades?
petercoulson
The more you try to sharpen them the diameter decreases so not a good idea but you may have a little success by filing from the flat side rather than the curved edge Payson

Flash
Always the same in this trade, we buy a piece of equipment and 72 years later no parts available. Mike at Vauxhall, keithm, kobblers and 3 others 1 4
