simong
1998 ford transit lost keys ,I think this vehicle needs a red key to program 2 new keys do you have to get the red key from the dealer or is there another way .
Lock Stock
The Red Master key is the first key you cycle in once PATS is cleared. It's was only coloured red to identify it.
ponsaloti
Its only red as the ignition is turned on
Cromwell
If all keys are lost then the vehicles PATS system needs to be cleared using a suitable programmer. Then just cycle three new keys in the ignition. The first key you cycle will be programmed as the master key. Other than the colour it's identical to the others it's just the first key registered in the system.
