grahamparker
It does but not many customers will be willing to wait upto 30/40 minutes including cutting time and the cost of the blade/head and machine makes them unrealistic at the moment. Hopefully now the floodgates have opened Silca and others will soon follow suit.
Lee
why wouldn't they be willing to wait 30/40 minutes? Probably quicker & easier than getting it done at the dealers. I think its amazing.
rapidlocks
I think had it been silca releasing this then for some it would have been hailed as the 2nd comming . Keyline have released a product that works exactly as described , ive tested it on a number of vw golf , a 2004 audi TT and a number of other vw applications , in a time of between 4 minutes and 28 minutes but on average around 12 minutes , and the head is re-usable too as ive found in playing with it The product is of a high quality , and every one ive attempted has worked flawlessly , so i cant fault it despite the time it takes , at present its the only option for this cloning. Yes silca jma etc will no doubt be developping their own , just as keyline will no doubt be working on improving times and developing new coverage , rather than critisise i applaud their skill and expertise in achiving this as they have . On a personal level id rather id48 cloning didnt happen , but thats selfish as im mobile and prefer it if id48 cloning doesnt happen , but it has , at present i can cover these cars quicker via obd and at a cheaper parts cost , but i can see me using it on some models as an option . But not everyone has the kit to code via obd so for them its a great release i suspect as opens new doors for them. Im sure the rest will follow and release their own in time , im sure keyline will speed up this , just as im sure at some point the chinese will release their copies of it , so the flood gates will be open , some will loathe it some will praise it , but hats off to keyline for being first and releasing a quality product that works and works flawlessly as you would expect from them , as i say i bet had this been a silca release it would have been hailed as the next comming , i see negatives only in id48 cloning now being available , but i have to applaud their skill and clever R&D team for achiving what they have achieved . will i use it over OBD , then No i wont as i can currently cut and program this coverage quicker via obd and at a cheaper parts cost and as cloning isnt a large part of what i do , but i can see uses where it will be useful to me on some nasties we meet , and for me it will probably get crucified and reduce the keys further in price in the market by some , but im sure il find uses for it , i suspect those that are shop based where cloning is a bigger part of what they do will find far more uses than i will . im sure we will all have mixed feelings on whether its a good thing or a bad thing , ie what i consider a negative others will consider a positive , one thing is for sure , its a huge advancement in cloning technology and will allow some to do what they havnt been able to do before now , so all in all hats off to them for succeeding in an area others have been unable to yet . grahamparker
dinger
It is good but having a shop now is a waste of time, Timpsons still cloning keys for £40 so there not much mark up on then really im still a bit disappointed on the prices they charge for the heads really when you know you cant charge more then £50 per key . Count Muppet
Minimum Timpson charge for ID48 key is currently £95 and that's only branches with MVP. All of the branches have AD900s so will not be cloning these anytime soon. Autotechnix

Why can't you charge more then £50? I start on 4c/4d/46 Etc. £58.75 standard & tibbie then Laser £62.75 all day long cloning in the shops. OBD varies at lot also dependant on job & distance. Just because Timpsons sell at a price doesn't mean you have to match it. I bet there is a guy on a market stall round the corner from you selling a Yale key at £1.50 but that don't mean you have to charge the same. What ever the price is someone will moan. Do your homework invest wisely & there is shit loads of money in cloning. It just about the price service & knowledge is worth a lot to most people. You don't need to cheap just good. keithm, Autotechnix, St.Am92 and 1 other

It wont be long until their bigger & won't be handing out your card once they killed off who they want. I have a similar thing here with my local Timpson shops around me but its just on normal keys though no vehicles. The issue is that they have so many people going in & out they can afford to send you their customers, Can you to do the same? I know I can't
Lee
The best bit about keyline is its been achieved using the 884 so we haven't got an outdated machin to do it. Its an awesome development.
lock&quay
I've learnt that it's not worth dropping a machine to jump onto who ever has come up with the latest idea , usually Keyline they obviously employ the clever clogs , But i'll wait until Silca do it . grahamparker
