How would you respond?

Recommended Posts

I've just emailed an order to my supplier. I then needed to add to the order and so sent another email within 10 minutes asking for two extra items.

I receive a response with "OK Grrrrrr!!!"

I reply asking why growling and receive this response "Annoying addons!!!! (every week!!!!)

I understand that they may need to commit the order to the warehouse but then surely, a few extra items is a good thing for them and is really within the remit of an employee to actively pis*s off a customer with such an impolite response?

I'm too angry to reply at the moment but felt like emailing back, cancelling the order and ensuring their boss received a copy also.

Rant over. Thanks for reading.

I suspect this is one of those occasions where the 'Grrr' just didn't work as a typed email.

Had it been a phone conversation, it might have come across differently.

Perhaps the employee in question would benefit from a little bit of advice on customer relations.

I nearly always add to an order. But sometimes they've already printed the invoice and charge carraige twice.

Try getting that back.

There are plenty more suppliers out there.

Currently having a argument with one. I'm not paying till resolved

Now on stop so using another.

There loss.

Don't put up with it, if one of your customers came back in a few minutes later because they forgot to buy something, would you moan, NO you wouldn't so complain to someone at the top.

Thanks for your replies. I'm still not sure how I will respond - I wouldn't mind as much but lately my orders have been missing items or they are sending me items I didn't ask for. I think i'm close to dropping them as a supplier and the email hasn't helped them at all!

I use two main suppliers - one is faceless and enormous and quite rightly that email response would annoy me ... But on the other hand my main supplier I have been using for 30 odd years and its the kind of thing we'd all have a laugh about ... So I suppose it does all depend on the relationship you have with the wholesaler ....
