petercoulson
Funny thing is a quick check on google and you could buy this pile of Chinese for less than US$3000. Me thinks someone has been stung...... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Shoe-repair-machine-cobbler-machine-/180597954944?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a0c7a1980#ht_5726wt_1141 Trust me, I know we sell machines and have a bit of an interest but these really are c**p, not even worth the dollar price. StevenB
Good Lord! If it's really only 2 months old you'd have thought they might have cleaned it a bit!

keithm
I can confirm that these machines are a pile of crap as I have one in our factory. The quality, if you can call it that, is poor, bands don't fit, there's no Naumkeag, moving the brushes around is a two handed operation but it does have speed control on the brushes, wtf A customer of ours thought he would 'have a go' and see what these machines were like and whether they were worth the saving. Well lets just say that it cost him, he tried it for 1 week, found it impossible to work with, and now has one of our reconditioned 700's getting on with his work without fearing for his life! Yeah, sorry, did I mention that they are dangerous too!!!!! Buy at your peril! Keith

StevenB
Maybe it's not so much sand and arabs as the fact that they were able to take a credible looking photo of a shiny machine. And put a price tempting enough to cloud someone's judgement. What a pillock though...

keithm
As I've said Martin, there was no sales effort here, the customer merely looked on line, saw a cheap deal and grabbed it! Repair machines are capital items, NOT commodities, and should be treated as such, buyers beware!

Would be a fantastic selling tool!
keithm
Thats precisely why it's sitting in my showroom next to our machines Kev and that's where it will stay I've sold two machines in the last 2 weeks to customers who have come to see us. The comments made about the 'foreign machines' over there, were interesting, and best left in the dust draw, assuming the extraction is up to it!!! StevenB
Nice piece of kit Keith, if I bid on it & win it (for 6p, what's not to like...) do you carry a full range of spares in stock - and is it compatible with your air-flow benches?
