ironplanet uk900
Well, aint been able to train properly for well over a month because of a very irritating hamstring injury and have been seriously worried whether I'd be able to make the Great North Run this Sunday But went out this evening to try and get a few miles in before it's too late, and managed to do 9 mile, cardio wise I felt I could run all night, but this bastard leg is doing my head in... got very tight, had to ice it up soon as I got in gunna leave it now till Sunday, very disappointed tbh, worked my ass off, lost over 5 stone and trained every day, swimming biking and running sinse January. I WILL run it and I WILL finish, so please please donate a small amount to make it all worth while. It would be lovely to see some of the forum sponsors show some support and follow Charles Birch and Standard Engineerings lead, I thank them very much. Here is the link you can donate on, one last time... Than you very much =D> https://www.bmycharity.com/V2/event.asp ... 2197e19712 Mark.

Lee
front cover with "shoe Repairs & Engraving signs" great marketing & good luck on Sunday. I hope the leg doesn't play up to much, but if it does walk it. taking part & finishing is what counts. Good Luck. Lee

ironplanet uk900
Well, completed the Great North Run in 2:07 was going really well untill the last 3 mile, ran myself into the ground and had nothing left, but managed to keep going. I was a little disopointed at the end because my fitness let me down through lack of training for 2 months with a hip injury, and then another injury to my other leg with 7 days to race day. But I did prove to myself I aint a quiter, which will come in handy when the ironman event comes round next year. Thanks to everyone who donated. We haven't done a final count because money is still owed and customers have still been giving today, but I know we have gone past the £3k mark, which is fantastic Just waiting for a few who promised Donations earlier in this thread to cough up please, it's a fantastic charity. Mark.

keithm
Well done Mark, excellent total as well It's so easy to give money for someone else to put in the effort, but so much more rewarding when you make the effort to take part yourself, as some of us did recently for Cancer Research and raise money Keith =D> =D> =D>
