  • 2 weeks later...

Well, aint been able to train properly for well over a month because of a very irritating hamstring injury  and have been seriously worried whether I'd be able to make the Great North Run this Sunday :(

But went out this evening to try and get a few miles in before it's too late, and managed to do 9 mile, cardio wise I felt I could run all night, but this bastard leg is doing my head in... got very tight, had to ice it up soon as I got in ](*,)

gunna leave it now till Sunday, very disappointed tbh, worked my ass off, lost over 5 stone and trained every day, swimming biking and running sinse January. I WILL run it and I WILL finish, so please please donate a small amount to make it all worth while.

It would be lovely to see some of the forum sponsors show some support and follow Charles Birch and Standard Engineerings lead, I thank them very much.

Here is the link you can donate on, one last time... Than you very much =D>

Well, completed the Great North Run in 2:07 was going really well untill the last 3 mile, ran myself into the ground and had nothing left, but managed to keep going. I was a little disopointed at the end because my fitness let me down through lack of training for 2 months with a hip injury, and then another injury to my other leg with 7 days to race day. But I did prove to myself I aint a quiter, which will come in handy when the ironman event comes round next year.

Thanks to everyone who donated. We haven't done a final count because money is still owed and customers have still been giving today, but I know we have gone past the £3k mark, which is fantastic :D

Just waiting for a few who promised Donations earlier in this thread to cough up please, it's a fantastic charity.
