Craig Gardner
i popped out to a motorbike dealer who also sells cars i do his car key work he had called me today and said he had a w reg kawasaki gsx600 with all keys lost and his mechanic said their is 388 stamped on the ignition barrel. i ran 388 through my computer and got the bitting for a suzuki key blank listed under kawasaki so i cut it and popoed down on my way home the key was the correct profile but the bitting was wrong. any ideas other than stripping the ign barrel of and striping to make key to wafers. can key codes be obtained like car ones. craig

Mark Davis
I've never had any joy with key codes on bikes either, normally open and strip petrol cap, which will normally give you last five cuts.

Auto Key Wizard
Craig, The blank should be either KW12P or KW15BP, Try the KW15 in the ignition, if it goes in fully that's the blank, if not then KW12.

Lee well if he charged £5 for the key that is honest i charge £6 for non transponder car and bike keys but a non transponder bike key needing made to the lock with no key i would have charged 1 hr labour for stripping lock at £45 but if i didnt need to strip like this i would have just chatged the £6.
