k4mrc
trading laws are an ass on this issue, as tim from glenway told me when after 6 years of refusing to do business with me as i tried to open an account, he had another shop in same town so would not service another - thing is he actually said " he officially would, but wouldn't send any goods unofficially" so even the law can be twisted. - then timpsons have all his products - which in my mind was saying his old policy didn't matter any more! and years later the shop he was serving closed - shame. Michael
I feel the same about Broadland ceramics. As mentioned in a previous post they wont supply 2 shops within 6 miles or something like that..I get loads of people asking if I can get the house signs the shop down the road has because they would rather deal with me and I begrudgingly have to say no because of silly company policy
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
I believe there is a law on restrictive practices but there is another that says you dont have to sell a product to anyone even if you advertise it.
TITs
Had some dealings in this matter when I was in distrubtion, It is restrictive practice to deny any retailer access to you products on the ground of what area or who else sells the same product, If you feel hard done bye call FSB and have them talk to the company for you. TITs
I am in the middle of forcing Dalvey to supply me or I am going to Sue them on the grounds of "retrictive and discriminatory practice" If they dont ! They are kicking back but they cant go to court as they no they will loose ! There draging there heals but I have told them unless they stop mucking about I am going to instruct my £185 P/H layers to start an action against them and when they loose they will be liable for ALL cost, and that includes loss of earnings to me as a retailer because of there bad practice and failure to comply with competition Laws

Auto Key Wizard
TIT's, Dalvey are a strange company, I spent thousands with them, rang them once with a 2K order & because I hadn't order anything in twelve months due to good stock levels, they said that my account had been closed, I didn't argue the toss, just told them to stuff it then, & invested my funds else where, shame really as Dalvey have a good product
