Cutting edge fashion

Recommended Posts

will generate sales if catches on and get in public domain and support from the trade and suppliers. Not been enough ideas (good and not so good) but every effort helps

may be dismissed, may work but always worth a try.

may be laughed at, may be fun

may be silly but lets give it a run.

So.....................

I have some questions.

1. Who is the target audience?

2. what is the price point?

3. how are they packaged?

4. whats cuttingedge's marketing strategy for them?

5. who is the wholesaler?

6. is this a charity campaign, or a business venture for cuttingedge?

Lee

well spotted.

1. the targeted user is anyone who wears shoes and wishes to wear something different and brighten up their footwear

2. prices are as they are now and just pushing a new idea will lead to extra sales and if works creates a demand,

3. same package, but if going the full hog matching up with same coloured socks for complete image

4. cutting edge angle is as always trying to promote the trade as an whole and looking for benefits to the industry and open to suggestions good or different to create a demand

5. i sure wholesalers will be advertising their variations but i am sure available from other outlets.

6. No charity event planned but who knows what may lead too

A. Cutting Edge is a group of suppliers of many lines who organise trade shows , publish a excellant publication and generally promotes the industry as an whole and is constantly looking for ideas to increase awareness and profits of all business aspects. Not all actions are to everybodys taste or suits their needs, but better to try or will never know.

B. Anyone who wishes to contribute or suggest any ideas are always welcome.

C. coloured/ pattern keys anyone

Actually makers like Dune and Bertie have been selling some very nice brogues with contrasting coloured laces for some time. They don't cost £200, more like £85 - £120 and they are sold by stores such as John Lewis and House of Fraser and are aimed at the more fashion conscious male ( of any age). It seems to me that there is a trend towards more formal style shoes, many with leather soles, some with coloured rubber soles and heels, and as a trade we should be aware of this and should be encouraging this type of buyer to have them repaired.

Just saying

We encourage all repairs... that's not the point.!!

I actually work in a shop & wittness the shoes coming through the door and I've yet to see anything like the pictures promoting this fashion... In any case coloured laces have been on the market donkeys years.. I don't sell many, but 75cm black round fly out!!

just sayin!

Sorry Mark I wandered a bit off topic.

The ones in the picture are probably not the best advertisement for a new fashion but they were the only pictures available at the time to illustrate the article. perhaps we should have used a more appropriate photo. The intention was to generate interest in pushing lace sales as an "add on " by latching on to a fashionable idea.

As suppliers we are all aware that we need to provide new ideas and opportunities in the hope that something will catch on.

Regards

Robin
