Paul_
What do you guys use lubricate glass when engraving with a diamond? We have always used Pledge furniture polish, which works perfectly but our local supermarket now only stocks Mr Sheen which is too runny and simply runs off the glass. We have tried oil and WD40 but neither quite to the trick. I see Mastergrave sell a glass oil, has anyone tried it? Or do you have a different product that does the trick? With thanks, Paul

chrisorros
I used white grease when we run out of pledge. Works well but found it to be a bit to thick so cleaning the machine after the job is a bit of a bastard Paul_
Paul_
For anyone who is interested, having tested a few different furniture polishes this weekend the winner is..... Aldi polish. Really thick and stays on the glass during engraving. Denfromfax and JamesST 1
Gray
I did 30 glass trophies with Mr Sheen 2 weeks ago. I wiped the glass down with thinners first and it seemed to stick better, but i agree it does tend to run off and needs a top up while engraving. I wouldn't bother with white grease TBH. I have glass oil here I have never used. I'll give it a go sometime.
Bronco78th
Am I using the wrong Pledge polish or something? I find Pledge much more watery and runny than MS and thus use MS all the time instead. Occasionally I come back to the machine to find the cutter/glass exposed but not often, this happened all the time with Pledge.
