Mine all works over WiFi never had to make a phone call. This week 90% of my turnover was on cards. The hidden secret of these institutions is all the fees they are gaining. It costs the public a fortune not having cash because ultimately it’s them that has to pay the bill

Mike at Vauxhall
What I do love about these new card providers - zettle, sum up and square- is no contract, not being tied to bloody worldpay in an 18 month contract. I use both zettle and sum up. Also paperless, no shitty receipts to keep, therefore no bloody PCCI complaince. My shop is probably 80% card now, been a couple of days where it was 100%. I remember the first day this happened to me being confused. id had a good day, cashed up and there was nothing in the till. I remember thinking it couldn’t be real. I’ve not taken a cheque in years. Cashless is coming & the banks and providers will happily take a percentage of the countries spending. Mick Friend and keithm

grahamparker
What would bank robbers do in a cashless society ?, similar for shop robberies most want the cash out of the till. Personally i would be quite happy not having to drive to the bank/post office to deposit money again wasting time and it costs to deposit cash/get change as well. Running a business costs so you just absorb those costs into your pricing. Our percentages are roughly 10% cash (and diminishing rapidly) 40% credit cards but most of our income is 50% by bacs from Trade accounts. If a customer asks which we prefer we always say card the money is in the business account by midnight that very same day. keithm

I walked into my personal bank and asked to withdraw £8500 they asked so many questions about what it was for and why i needed it and i had to return the next day to get it. Changed banks after that.
