U Rail or not?

I've been asked to source this part. Ive found it on Aldridge.

This may well seem like a dumb question but should I order the first version or u rail? Havnt a clue what u rail is? Anyone able to help? Thanks

I think and I may be wrong that the U rail is for the UPVc section doors that thake a bent forend the sides curve back making a rough 'U' shape in the wooden door I would expect the flat faceplate- Corerect me if I'm wrong

If you are still not sure ring Aldridge Specials and ask to speak to Andi, Paul or Stuart they will know the answer or will find it out for you.

It will be interesting to know for future reference as i also have never come across this term.

It's obvious once you remove it from the door whether it's a flat profile or not, note the 'U' shape in the following link as an example.

Correct Mick

Multipoint Locks with Flat faceplate will be seen on timber or UPVC doors

Multipoint Locks with U-Rail faceplate will only be seen on UPVC applications, They are wider and usually white in colour for obvious reasons.

The lock in image has Flat faceplate
