Lee
it was a reaction to Kirkybobs comment which in turn was a reaction to this topic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6733 It wasn't really relevant to your topic, sorry! we often go all over the place on the forum! Michael
I was using Vistool 6 on an Windows XP laptop until it broke I am looking into a new laptop, and after speaking to Mark @ U-Marq I found you cannot use Vistool 6 on a Windows 7 laptop, you will need to upgrade to the latest version of Vistool. UK Engraving Services
You can still get hold of XP laptops on ebay, or even if you have an XP boot cd you can down grade from 7 to keep running Vistool 6.

Lee
I don't know how it works but I believe you can use windows virtual-pc 2007 to run older xp applications in windows 7 I think it installs two operating systems on one partition but having never used it I don't know for sure! UK Engraving Services
I've tried that method and its a bit flakey to be honest. You can do it and it creates a virtual XP Operating System and as you boot up it asks which version you want. I have tried it with Gravostyle and Engravelab in the past and it seems to cause more crashes in the software.
Gray
I think you can download Vistool 5 basic somwhere might get you going.
hibsjo(SCO)
i run a partition on one laptop xp and whatever was after that? vista? always go to xp when i start up why dont you clone your hard drive and upgrade to new computer and insert new hard drive? running an engraving machine from a laptop isnt the best practice
