Fast Fix Elgin
A wee story I got a customer in with a Seiko automatic 21 jewels for a service but I could not do it so passed it onto Jevon and Stanly, I packed it up safe with my compliment slip in a silca key blank box, addressed it then sent it......Jevon and stanly never recieved the watch so I had to replace the lost watch for the customer nightmare... So a year later UPS deliver a parcel and it reads... Dear Kenny This Seiko watch has been sitting in our receiving department. Here in Silca Italy for the past year or so, maybe more.... The Royal mail definitely looked at the wrong address on the box( maybe the person that worked for the Royal mail was a little messed up that day) Well, whatever the reason who would have ever thought that us Italians would have sent this watch back(?) .....Bet you if it was a Rolex it would have disappeared up in England too Anyway the owner of the Seiko watch was probably a little angry with you( you probably forgot about it) so I think it would be funny to send it back to him explaining what really happened to his lost watch. Cheers Gerry I would like to say a big Forum thank you to Gerry and Silca Italy for sending back the watch and putting a smile on my face.... petercoulson
Thats fantastic, not great for royal mail though (wonder if they asked for the extra postage?) We have sent parcels before with our returns label on the underneath, guess what? even though the stamps are beside the postal address they get sent back to us as though addressed to us. Well done Silca though, did they also fix the watch?
Michael
Personally I'd be bloody annoyed that it took them a year to send it back and your out of pocket. ...especially as it came with such a "couldn't give a toss " attitude letter!! Lee
was you able to get it back to the original owner? or are his details lost in the sands of time? I NEVER send a watch with out using royal mails special delivery that way they can track & trace it. Lesson leant! Lee
Auto Key Wizard
Royal Mail Special Delivery that way they can track & trace it. Lee
but if they lose it they pay for it! I'd be looking to the local papers for some publicity on this one fast fix, it would make a good local story returning the watch after so long. Gray
Talk to Martin (k4mrc) he's the master in this kind of thing. He can get publicity out of nothing.
