Lee
Eeer! Nobody wants to know how not to do it Hibs I know how not to bake a wedding cake. who would want to know that either? Perhaps it goes:- While you wait, spray them with stretcher, rack them up give them 5 minutes spray some more stretcher on them and let the customer walk home to stretch them, them selves? £2 for the stretching £3.60 for the spray, fiver in the till all WYW? OR Rack them up for 1/4 a day instead of 1/2 a day. = 24 pair a week instead of 11? OR Buy 2 stretchers if your that busy on them instead of one? Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Ahhh thanks Hibs, very nice to get a bit of praise. Pleased to see you have invested in the full Kit & Kaboodle. Advert in the Sunday suppliments for Boot Stretching and you could employ someone just stretching all week, all year. Very few have these stretchers. 5% commission for the idea of course
ironplanet uk900
Just a question, Do you stretch boots with zips in.
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
You dont need to stretch those UK, just open the zip for them and they can then get them on No reason not to, as with all risky jobs, advise and disclaimer signed. It aint worth the paper it's written on but 95% dont know that.

We do alterations on them, but don't like stretching the calf with zips in, as the zip will go before the leather gives
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
This can be the case with the harder leathers, each pair has its own limits, the skill is knowing how far to go, not something you can tell the answer to on a forum as you have the knowledge to estimate this but it has taken years of trial and error to get to this stage. In general, the softer the boot the easier it is to stretch. If there is a leather lining usually forget it. But there are always exceptions. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
still waiting on the explanation and method of stretching you now adopt hibs like uk says, we know how not to bake a cake You were offered the explanation Rick at the same time as Joe, he suffered a week of cat & mouse games to get there but you would not go through with it. I tried you on another one to but you would not play ball there either, remember the Fish Tank? Joe put the effort into it and is reaping the rewards. keithm
Why the secrecy Hugh? Do you have a trademark to protect? Your never secret with your criticism £2 for stretching? Overnight only, £4.50 for shoes and £7 for boots, no cost of spray involved Own risk only. Keith

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Thanks again Hibs. There is no secrecy Keith, I just expect an input rather than handing it on a plate. It is not just how or what price, and £2 is way off scale BTW, it is the why factor plus unless you are motivated then you only get a small part of this potential turnover. There is far more to it than just stretching, all of you out there can do stretching so there is no secrecy in stretching.
Auto Key Wizard
Ok Hugh, so we gotta puzzle it out for ourselves then Is it along the lines of selling the customer the required tools for them to do it themselves? i.e shoe stretcher device & spray

Maybe now there wil be an upsurge in the interest but you joe have the key, the secret stays locked in my vault. One day I will visit you and you can buy ne that drink, a promise.
