Hugh, I was merely making reference to the fact that you have NO Idea about any plans we have as far as engineering is concerned, I was not JUDGEING YOU. As you rightly say, I don't know you or your abilities

As for you knowing something about engineering, if it's so straight forward and you are as clever as you claim, why are YOU not making parts to keep all those old machine going? According to the good book Hugh-Be-Do, you would make a fortune and put us and Si-Serve out of business?

Just a thought

UK900

My identity would not harm the forum in the slightest, just that I would not contribute, argue, deliberate, just moderate. Maybe that might be a good thing to some.

StevenB

Smarmyness does not become you.

And leave Trigger out of this.

Why should your Identity stop you contributing :? Most of the members who do contribute, are known.

Or is it because you ain't what you want everybody to think you are

To quote StevenB as smarmy, is a bit rich from someone who hides behind a false identity, and claims to know everything about everything.

You get peoples backs up sometimes with your knowall attitude

You bullying again trying to drag info out. Drop it cos you aint going nowhere following that line.

You can call me a bully all you like, cos I ain't. and I'm only following the line that you started.

Just getting a bit close to the real Hughby Do,,,Hitting a raw nerve

You must see that you walk the line, when you interfere in other peoples business, like you know better than them.

I mean come on what are you.......A shoe repairer, a engineer, a marketing expert..etc etc etc.

Most members are good in a certain field, but you seem to think you know more about everybody's line of business than them.. even to the extent of saying you know what standard engineering have in stock on their shelves.

I couldn't give a damn who you are, just curious to know what made you so great.

I don't see how that makes me a bully.

So, making comments is interfering in other peoples business is it? since when?.

If you dont give a damm why are you still pushing it? you just asked what am I and I'll tell you without any lies. I dont pretend to be the best, I dont pretend to be Superman,I dont pretend to live in New York, I am who I say I am, an old Cobbler as my Avatar shows, looking out this very minute over a large green grassy field. I have retired as stated but that does not mean that I dont know what goes on, even in the boardrooms and factories and shops.

I dont consider myself great but how nice of you to make the comment

If you wish me to stop commenting Just ask.

If you wish me to stop offering advice just ask.

If you wish me to stop posting Just ask.

If you want my credentials I aint got none, just an old nodding cobbler.

No need for a Witch hunt to try to ferret me out into the open, what will that prove anyhow! apart from getting rid of me!

Does your wife get this much garbage? or is it reserved just for me, Ah I thought so, how nice of you to care

Ah at last we know, Your just an old knowall nodding cobbler

Hey Hugh, don't stop posting... Your great fun, & I love your fighting spirit.

God bless you Noddy

By they way, My company has an office in New York :smt028

And my wife left me cos I spend to much time talking to old men on the internet

Keith,

Is there any way you can post pics of what to look for rather than text, on what to look for when trying to identify who made the head on the Goodyear.

You did promise some time ago to have this info put on new machines but there are many out there that have old heads on modern bases.

If someone askes for a part for a Standard Goodyear that you have supplied in the past they may recieve a wrong part if the Head came from a WHB or K&B (perhaps I'm wrong and you have never used these heads).

It could then go in tutorials for future reference.

Did I Hugh ? I never make 'promises' Hugh

We know what and where the machines are that we have supplied and of course we can then send the right parts. I wasn't aware that there was a problem with us sending parts correctly. Of course, we occasionally get it wrong, no ones perfect in my eyes.

Nah Keith yer missunderstood. Or me not write clear enough.

You are not doing anything wrong, just a helping aid when someone rings for a part.

Maybe you did not promise maybe you said you would look into it.

Scenario, hyperthetical,

I have a new modal Goodyear (could be supplied by anyone or purchased secondhand), I need a part that differs with each manufactured head. lets us say for instance Needle guide or Table, 2 very common items, how do you know what the head was origininally to enable the correct parts to be despatched. I have many tables guides that I had to juggle with as some did not fit particular machines.

If I could say to you, it is a Standard machine with a ......... head (I know it's a ....... head because I saw your photo in the tutorial) would it not make lfe easier and avoid wrong parts going out. This would apply to Siserve as well of course.

I know of 2 machines that are on Standard bases and both have different thread lifting gear, 1 is direct fit in the lifting arm the other is fitted by way of an eccentric cam.

Could be confusing to those who have little knowledge when ordering a part that is ordered as they think correctly but a different part arrives that looks so much like the original but will not fit.

And what about multiples who must swap machines about like I swap Dandy & Beano comics

Keith, do you get many problems with supplying incorrect parts as Hugh suggests?

If so, I'd expect that you already have systems in place for sorting it out, if not, it's not an issue & we're all discussing a problem that doesn't exist...

Perhaps we should have some lessons on the tutorials on how to bloody read

I never said anyone was supplying wrong parts, there you go again jumping and dancing when there is no tune.

If, Scenario, Hyperthetical are words used to describe a situation that could arise.

and stop being the arse you call me uk900 of course I dont know whats on standards shelves, my inventory is way out of date.

Well Hugh, it's a bit rich of you to comment on this subject when you know nothing about what we stock, what we make and the quality of our engineers

You talk about having the parts made. If you really understood what goes into making or having parts made, then , maybe, you would have a valid argument

please don't tell me what we can and can't do, you have NO idea.

Please don't judge us or anyone until you KNOW that you have the evidence to support your arguement.

Now please go back to your knitting.

Keith

Not knowing what you stock, or make, or the quality of your engineers!!!

    Oh yes I do.

I think your wrong again

Is Noddy losing the plot :)
