  1. yes this works on smart pro , ad100 pro and mvp pro
  2. yes works fine , the feedback area on the app confirms this if you read the feedback, after all thats why so many bothered to give feedback in the app. Thats what the feedback area in the app is for . you can use one listed as sportage id R00018
  3. on various groups and forums i must see 10 to 20 such cases a week , if that many are getting looked into then how many are not . its pointless authorities taking action as the courts dont give punishments that deter them , our authorities are so understaffed with very limited resources that most of these cases would probably not even get looked at. you have the right to charge what you like for your services as long as stated up front and agreed . the public need educating , sadly when in a panic common sense goes out the window
  4. Good ending for this story , however not for the next victim . The way these scammers operate is the numbers game , for everyone that complains enough to get a refund theres 10 more that dont or are to frightened to , its a licence to print money for them . if trading standards etc get too interested they disolve the business and start a new business . in a world full of trusting or vulnerable people there are scammers happy to rip them off , no regulation along with an inadequate legal system and soft punishments make it a profitable business and a fruitfull feeding ground .
  5. however in this case the OP states it didnt fail, no fail message , it read , wrote and said succesfull . i dont think ive ever cloned one of these , obd is so straight forward with most tools , add key without affecting existing keys and tools like truecode do these fiesta in just a minute or so . these fiesta suffer from tranciever issues , also ignition switch issues are not uncommon , also watch out for the bling ring stuck on column around the ignition as interferes too. even if cloning is all you do , for the few minutes it takes , its good practice to always check the key starts before cloning or case changing , a tool like kdx2 with your phone is ideal for checking the tranciever , takes a minute only and can save grief. my son used to work for timsons , a chap came in swearing and abusing him because he had a battery change on his mercedes key and now key doesnt work , when told that this was not the case as only he had been on and did no mercedes key , the chap said it was the other fella , he works alone but has cctv as in a supermarket foyer the chap said another branch and left. people will try it on if they can get a free repair. RW4 has always been reliable , though these days with silca nothing would surprise me.
  6. Ive not heard of this happening with cloning on these ford chips The good news is if no joy then straight forward enough to either plug in and recode by obd or fit new chips and code by obd id also consider testing the customers tranciever ring around the ignition as is another common issue , these can have intermittent issues before going fully . As im not very trusting of the public i assume you tested the key starts the engine prior to cloning it ? If you have a tool like kdx2 you can test the tranciever very easily and quickly .
  7. Lock expo on 2nd and 3rd of march at the belfry hotel nottingham , it is a small show , not many exhibitors but still deals to be had https://lockexpo.co.uk/ after this the next mla show is 2025 i believe , though if for auto side then hickleys run there simply keys show in may or june normally.
  8. You can enter vin into this parts look up for hyundai https://catalogs.ssg.asia/hyundai/?lang=en simply enter the vin number , it will bring up the model , double click this , then select trim , then select cylinder and lock set , it will list the remote part number if fitted its a handy free parts look up for hyundai on models up to 2016
  9. i suspect it will come good in the end , since silca involvement in AD the model seems to be charge more , release before ready and beta test on customers , look at the shocking release of smart pro and how bad this was in its first year , it failed far more than it worked , it took a while to get it to an acceptable standard , though no compensation for loyal customers that believed the story of it being an upgrade , 3 months utp with upgrade was pointless as took 9 months to see improvement . then when bugs in rw5 fixed in the future they will probably cease support for rw4+ and m box , possibly stopping server access or slowing it to try and force old customers to buy rw5 , if the mvp pro and ad100 pro model is anything to go by. consumer law stops us trading in such way as we deal with the public , its about time consumer law also protected business to business sales , this would hurt some distributors and manufacturers as shafting customers in this field has become the norm , after all the chinese got away with it for years , IEA and Cryptoworks both got away with it and abrites have pulled more strokes in past than the government , so why not silca and ad too . we have to understand we dont own this kit we only rent it if they can make it unusable when it suits them.
  10. last few times i used rw4 plus and m box it couldnt connect to server so server error , rebooting a few times got it connected . i refuse to buy rw5 .
  11. machines like unocode , triax and viper were made to last a lifetime , machines like futura are not the same build quality and wont last the time these do
  12. matt at silca who repaired the machines is their greatest asset , top man who goes the extra mile , if he leaves silca will implode , hes silca through and through.
  13. only if you dont already have a mykeys account , if you have a mykeys account already the mbox should now appear in your machine list in the account
  14. this is the way of things now , to generate more income you discontinue a product in favour of the new product , not so bad when its a cheap item , but a cut to code machine is not a cheap item. you understand this with programmers , but why ? silca owned advanced diagnostics sold smart pro as the necessary upgrade to ad100 pro and mvp pro , added token charges for free functions on mvp pro to the smart pro , increased revenue from previously free functions = more money for silca . was it a necessary upgrade to by smart pro , we are told so to cope with the more complex vehicle systems , yet former advanced diagnostics owner who now sells tdb1000 has very similar coverage with a very basic tool at a fraction of the cost , necessary for whom , for silca to make more cash possibly , as if tdb can do it with a basic unit , why not silca ? i understood this with viper as had limited axis to cope with newer keys and was an old machine but still a hard working machine , but futura has same coverage as the newer so i see no valid reason for this , stopping updates is one thing , but to stop services and spare parts is upsetting for owners of this machine , glad i bought keyline ninja laser instead of futura. the smaller businesses who buy a cut to code machine are making for them a large investment in their machine , for some it will take many years to get payback on their investment , many cant just buy the latest tech in the current market especially when their current tech hasnt paid back , silca like most big businesses dont consider this , they look at numbers and how to increase revenue . Though will it increase revenue ? many have relagated smart pro to just a back up machine which means far less tokens and utp bought going forward , many turning to the ever improving china machines and programmers , china pretty much dominate this market and improving year on year offering more and more affordable solutions , whilst silca raise prices , invent new income streams and turn their customers towards china and their competitors , personally i think it will achieve the opposite for them. last week i was in town on a thursday evening , every pub in town was quiet , the best for real ale was dead where 2 pints is a tenner , yet all 4 wetherspoons in town was packed , 1 of them had a queue to get in , sign of the times. all of us who have been cutting keys for a long while would agree that silca is the best quality in volume cutting machines , there machines were built to last so didnt often need replacing , china machines may not last the time silca does in build quality , but they are far cheaper to upgrade to latest tech than silca and if the speed at which futura has become unsupported i suspect some china machines will have the same life as these at a fraction of the price. i agree with graham , once you have a silca cut to code then with the exception of some keyline machines , nothing comes close in quality , but the heavy duty machines are a far smaller market than the light to medium use machines and a luxury item many small businesses cant warrant. as much as silca is the best for cutting machines , not for programmers any more , but cutting machines yes especially for those doing high volume cutting , but are they the best choice for the smaller lighter use customers any longer ? the rate of sales the chinese are having id say not , and these many small businesses will accumilate to be a huge chunk of the market , though i doubt silcas market going forward. looking at silca cloning chips being 7 to 10 times more expensive than xhorse and keydiy chips of similar quality , making functions that were always free and still are on mvp pro now require a token on smart pro , ceasing support for machines that are not old machines to try and force an upgrade all the silca way , it seems they want their loyal customer base to pay for the trade they are losing to new starts to china . the model looks to be , too expensive for the multitude of new set ups , far more expensive to use than their competitors and alienating their once loyal customer base , where else does it go other than into the hands of their competitors , since the job has become so much easier , the amount of new starts has gone up 10 fold , i guarantee that its not silca kit that they will be buying . silca is still great quality products , but they dont value their long time customers and have lost touch with the market they serve . I still have many silca and keyline machines and they will see me to retirement , but the new generation are not so enthusiastic about silca.
  15. since the migration our m box went back to jon number 1 , my son tried cloning an old 2008 vw T5 today , everything went fine until writting the t48 chip , returned writting error E1. he tried a number of silca T48 chips , same issue . i had to go and code new chip in by obd not sure if server issue , or to do with the migration to new server
  16. have you tried updating it with latest update , failing that it may be the reader/ariel failing in the unit and need a part or wiring issue inside that needs repairing. have a chat to nikki at nwkeys im sure she can advise on whats wrong keydiy kdx2 is a good handheld for chip id as a back up , but id get your rw4+ looked at and repaired if broken
  17. personally id say rw4 plus is probably the best device for detecting transponders , what make model and year is it not detecting for you ? if positioning is correct in the slot , then it can read most transponders . it may help if you can say on what make model and year of vehicle you are having issues reading
  18. The best advice i can give anyone is not to get complacent , every day is a school day and we are forever learning as things change and move on all of the time. develop routine processes you follow , like battery support , pre job and post job fault scans etc , never assume , use qulaity parts and honour guarantees . Never make claims you cant fulfill , even the easiest of jobs can humble us and kick our backside. Always charge enough to build an investment pot to buy the new tech needed as things change and when kit becomes outdated , this one is the downfall of many. i dont aim to be cheaper but i do aim to give value in the right quality in parts , service and workmanship. the most important i believe for all from the newest to the oldest in trade , is to remember that none of us are any better than our last job or our next job , this never changes, a reputation takes years to build but can be quickly ruined.
  19. well done for surviving and enjoying your 1st 5 years , many dont make it past year 1 , many more lose their shirt . its always been a trade of you get out what you put in , its always good to read a happy outcome , you should be proud as your in the minority of the new starts we see come and go every year , so well done and keep going . i wouldnt say we are miserable , we see dozens of such posts on dozens of forums every year , most not all , have rose coloured specs on thinking all they need to get on is a course and facebook , most dont have a clue how to run a business or the graft and work it takes to learn a trade whilst running a business , there are always the exceptions but the exceptions are the minority. my mood doesnt change , despite loving what i do , im counting down to retirement and i wont look back. congratulations on your 5th year trading and i hope you enjoy many more.
  20. the frequency tester on the kdx2 is very good , i dont believe rw4 tests frequency its just for transponders , but kdx2 does have a decent frequency tester
