Church Key

hi all, ive cut lots of keys (altbough admittedly im not a key Smith) however I have been asked to cut a quite ornate church key . I enjoy a challenge and will have a go, any tips on tools to use for this? or just plain old files? all side wards. Thanks-Andy

A key saw will save a lot of time but most important of all I hope you never get a blank with any air bubbles in the casting of the blank. There’s nothing worse than spending a few hours to cut one of these for it to snap the first time it’s used. Happened to me twice and after the second time I no longer cut these all the blanks I had went in the bin while I was still in a rage. So best of luck use a good quality vernier calliper measure often and take your time.

thanks Graham. will do this in sure. anyone ever used a dremel?

Never tried a Dremel....... used a drill to get rid of most it then hand filed, but did have one break first time used though, so beware.

How much is your hourly wage (what would you like to make per hour) x 3 at least
