keysinthecity
Does anyone else find Corbins to be fussy keys to cut? We occasionally find the JMA blanks are too thick to go in the customer's cylinder. We also sometimes have trouble with the cut. Do people cut these with the vice spun round to grip in the channel or pushed to the back? Thanks
grahamparker
I use Silca blanks and have never had a problem with a blank not fitting in a Corbin lock. Cut them on the flat jaws. completelocks
Lee
No problems generally.
Flash
Had a report this week of a couple "to thick to go in lock" but not had chance to verify this.
mrkeys
Only problem we have ever had has been wrong blank selection with new staff, Never ever had a problem with either silca or HD when I've chosen the blank or an experienced colleague
earlsdoncobbler
Had a report this week of a couple "to thick to go in lock" but not had chance to verify this. maybe wrong blank not all corbins are jma cor1d I stock a few different ones they have slight difference so if they come back from being too thick maybe wrong blank so have a closer look caught out myself a few years ago not had any problem with cor 1d completelocks
completelocks
Agree with earlsdoncobbler. Could be the wrong blanks as some of the Corbin blanks are very similar. Never have a problem with them me, JMA, Silca or whichever is in the box I order.
Flash
When I copy a Cor1d from a Cor1d it's difficult to believe it could be the wrong blank. maybe wrong blank not all corbins are jma cor1d I stock a few different ones they have slight difference so if they come back from being too thick maybe wrong blank so have a closer look caught out myself a few years ago not had any problem with cor 1d
Mike at Vauxhall
Had my corbin in months today. This thread made me slightly paranoid. Measure the genuine corbin key against my jma cor1d blank. The blank was .05 mm thinner.
